Yeah, I get it, its why my first comment was we need to dramatically redefine and streamline "governance" down to the more digestible stuff we discussed previously. CIPS and voting on the panelists every year etc. That's about it, not this free for all we have now. So we now have governance 2.5 rather than 2 or 3. I see no reason why your idea can't gel perfectly fine with that reality. There's a lot to discuss, lots of variables etc. But directionally I think you understand where I'm coming from.

The important part is I think we recognize some of the issues here.

Charles Hoskinson just said he has no governance keys, no treasury access, and no control over where Cardano goes next.

I wanted to share context for many who have no idea what is happening on Cardano.

The Genesis keys that created Cardano are burned. Everything now runs through community proposals and votes.

We're seeing projects like TapTools close. The economics are brutal when bond yields beat holding ADA.

Governance is hard, and as a community, I think we can fix things and turn things around.

The Leios roadmap to solving the blockchain trilemma

I'm actually not a huge fan either. But there does need to be a central place. I still think a discord revamp is needed for the folks who do like and want it, plus intersect would need it anyway. Midnight's done well with it. But I am open to ideas like the one you're watching which at least meets people where they are. I'm always for that.

Ultimately though X is the town square and a discovery platform. And we should primarily use it as a positive centric unified public facing channel imo. It does us no good to air our dirty laundry here. My hope is Charles can engage in channels where tough discussions can be had but that minimize collateral social fallout and damage. No system will be leak proof or free of bad faith trolling though.

Good faith community members do need to come together under one roof as it were though, behind a shared agreed upon vision. And a way to constructively engage abd not feed the troll mill needlessly.

@MartiniGuyYT He's taking a break from X as the governance process has been an exhausting process for all involved. He's not taking a break from Cardano. His company literally got funded to do a ton of work on Cardano. But we're in a crypto bear market so yeah projects are struggling.

You're both right. This can and should be done. I would make the revamped intersect org discord that place with appropriate rooms. Cardano’s midnight equivalent. Let X be for the positive and supportive engagement and comms. Just block, ignore, and drown out those who would drag us to anything but a more coherent and unified front.

Given yesterday's overarching response, I did some analysis of the replies on toxicity and possible coordination activity, results are below in pngs of the report Grok ran on 130ish replies. No privacy is breached here since thread is public.

LINK: ~75–80% below ATH

The story of this cycle hasn't been Cardano.
It's been Bitcoin dominance.

Capital flowed into BTC while most alts got crushed.
Cardano isn't alone. The entire alt market has been fighting the same headwind.

The question isn't whether ADA is down. The question is what happens when capital rotates back out of Bitcoin. 👀

Great Cardano SPO Call today - Notes for June 4th

1. Van Rossem Hard Fork Preparations
- Things are looking GREEN for the hard fork
- node 11.0.1: SPOs need to upgrade now
- Pre-view cost model has worked, Pre-prod in progress
- Plutus Cost model is on main net: DReps and CC need to vote
- 72% of blocks on main net are now protocol v11
- Ogmios and Kupo are hard fork ready
- Hard fork proposal will go on main net after Pre-prod completes successfully
- Go / No Go in on June 15th

2. Ouroboros Leois
- DevNet is generating a large amount of simulated traffic for testing
- Working on improving the mempool to increase throughput
- @SundaeSwap is helping put transaction load on the DevNet
- High confidence track to deploy Leios to main net eventually, still working on establishing high criteria in security and liveness in preparation for main net.
- Need early involvement from community on TSC, Civics committees etc… alignment for eventual main net. Date TBD.
- Will take some time to get production ready for mainnet as it is a major protocol upgrade.
- Public SPO testnet will launch the last week of June

@Cerberus24000 @dori_coin I think there's a great deal that needs to be done, so much so, that it's hard to summarize in a simple tweet or soundbite. I think if I laid it all out folks would understand though. It's a pretty chunky overhaul.

Personally, I think Cardano needs a focused discord channel where the difficult conversations are had and the public sphere should be for promoting and engaging with positive public facing discourse, in addition to streamlining what "governance' is. Some lessons from midnight. It's again why we need to pivot from governance chaos to a more focused single point of gravity and the community can gravitate and fall inline and we can be in unison.
