We provided scholastic materials including mathematical sets, books, pens and pencils to 55 pupils at Kabuga Primary School through the RABBITS FOR EDUCATION project. We thank our partners @MastercardFdn for supporting us to make this happen.

Initiatives such as the Rabbits for Education can help to reverse these numbers. Empowering households economically to raise school fees is one of the possible ways to reduce the number of school Dropouts.

@EducGuides with support from @MastercardFdn is implementing the RABBITS FOR EDUCATION PROJECT that is empowering households in Kamwenge district to increase their income through Rabbit rearing as a way of raising school fees.

An increase in Dropouts in government schools is partly due to inadequate resources to cater for scholastic materials such as books, pens, mathematical sets, etc. Failure to pay charges such as development , lunch and PTA fees contributes to the problem too.

Education is every child’s right including pregnant girls and teenage mothers. All children should be given the opportunity to go to school to secure their future. Nothing should stand in the way of education for both boys and girls.

The initiative then helps participants to find market, so they can generate income to support their education and help reduce dropouts in government schools in Western Uganda.
