Behind the new UGC guidelines stands the courageous struggle of SC lawyer Disha Wadekar. She forced the UGC to strictly implement its rules so that caste discrimination can no longer claim lives like Rohith Vemula and Payal Tadvi. Salute to her fight for justice. Jai Bhim ✊🏾

The I&B Ministry’s attempt to block ‘Jana Nayagan’ is an attack on Tamil culture.
Mr Modi, you will never succeed in suppressing the voice of the Tamil people

36 years ago, Tamil revolutionary Vasanthy Michael, better known as Major Sothiya, passed away in the jungles of Manal Aru. She played a key role in mobilizing Tamil women to fight for their rights and to resist the Sri Lankan state. The Women’s Brigade, known as the “Sothiya Regiment,” was later formed in 1996 in her honor.
Vasanthy was born in Nelliyadi, Vadamaradchi, in Jaffna. Prior to joining the Tamil resistance, she was a medical student at the University of Jaffna. She joined the resistance in 1984 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming both a paramedic and a commander.
Despite the small age difference between Sothiya and the female cadres, they perceived her as a mother figure. She ensured that every cadre was comfortable and personally cared for. Her leadership skills were outstanding, as was her ability to educate and mobilize women to confront the Sri Lankan Army. She strongly advocated for women to have an independent military structure and greater autonomy, especially during a period when large numbers of women were joining the movement.
Vasanthy fell ill in the jungles due to an aggressive and virulent illness. She passed away on 11 January 1990. Her funeral was attended by tens of thousands of people in her hometown.
The Tamil nation deeply misses you and salutes you on the day of your martyrdom.

English isn’t superiority — it’s the bridge.
Regional languages are identity — English is connection.
Justice BV Nagarathna just said what many hesitate to say.

"If Hindus migrate to other regions on earth, Indian caste would become a world problem," – Dr. Ambedkar
This is not a protest, it’s humiliation — because CJI Gavai belongs to the Dalit community. Shame on Hindus...

In India’s govt schools, Dalit, Adivasi & backward-class kids form the majority, yet their health & future are ignored. In Shyopur, Madhya Pradesh, they don’t even get plates to eat, let alone nutritious food. This is not negligence—it’s caste injustice in our education system.
We celebrate our Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Africa, @JahaENDFGM, on her birthday.
