People ask me about Building Thinking Classrooms, and I just say go visit one. I’ve never once seen it work once. I’ve only seen students who struggle with math being left out and then coming to me for intervention, where I use Direct Instruction and they’re suddenly learning.
Does anybody feel like there are so many programs and initiatives going on at their school that they end up being counterproductive to each other or cause a competition for resources?
The more I analyze education across the country, the more I'm convinced that a large section of society doesn't actually like children, particularly after they start getting a bit of agency.
