My letter to Hon. @JustineNameere to register my strong protest and deep concern regarding the manner in which the recent anti-corruption engagements in Budaka District have been conducted.

Today, at State House Entebbe, I presided over the swearing-in of three Ministers: Hon. Amb. Adonia Ayebare, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hon. Shartsi Kutesa Musherure, Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development in charge of Micro-Finance; and Hon. Witonze Juma, Minister of State for Internal Affairs.
I congratulate them and urge them to focus on eliminating corruption and inefficiency in Government through proper supervision and accountability.
On dual citizenship, I stressed that while the arrangement was introduced to address Uganda’s difficult history, people must be clear about where their loyalty lies. Ultimately, the East African Federation remains the long-term solution to questions of identity and integration in our region.

Kyambogo University is in the spotlight for awarding certificates to graduates for courses they did not study.
Members of Parliament on the Committee of Education and Sports heard that students were admitted for courses leading to the award of Diplomas in Physical Education and Sports but got those of Sports Management.
Vice Chancellor Prof Justus Kwetegyeka said the anomaly is being corrected following university standard processes. #CommitteesUg

The issue raised by the coffee seedling suppliers in Masaka has been resolved. His Excellency the President @KagutaMuseveni , through the State House Comptroller @JaneBarekye , will ensure that the suppliers are paid fully tomorrow morning.
I also wish to inform the nation that the matter appears to have been escalated due to political differences and the stress faced by the seedling operators. The contract to supply the coffee seedlings was awarded to Chairman Bulegeya of Masaka. Hon. Justine Namere only witnessed the arrangement and was not a contracting party to the suppliers, contrary to the allegations made by the lady yesterday.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Parliament’s Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) has summoned the Uganda Human Rights Commission (@UHRC_UGANDA) Chairperson, Ms Mariam Wangadya, after commissioners said no meeting has been held since March 2026, raising governance concerns.
"We are giving her and the commission a second chance... the matters to handle are very, very concerning," said Hon @NkunyingiMuwad1, the COSASE Chairperson.
UHRC Commissioner Col. (Rtd) Stephen Basaliza acknowledged the paralysis and said: "Since March, we have never had a commission meeting. So in short, there has been no activity of the commission in leadership." #CommitteesUg
A SIM card registration agent has been convicted and sentenced to one year in prison or a fine of UGX 500,000 for illegally registering a SIM card, contrary to the law. The irregularly registered SIM card was later used to defraud a student through a bogus scholarship scheme.
This case serves as a reminder that compliance with SIM card registration procedures is crucial for protecting consumers and preventing communications-related crimes.
