I’m happy to share that the Central Bank of Tanzania (BOT) @BankOfTanzania has granted @SwahiliesPay our own Payment Service Provider (PSP) License.

I’d add layered defenses:

• Rate limit per user/API key/device, not just IP
• Token-based limits (JWT / API keys)
• Behavioral detection (burst patterns, anomalies)
• CAPTCHA / challenge on suspicious traffic
• WAF / bot protection (Cloudflare, etc.)
• Geo/IP reputation filtering
• Request fingerprinting (UA, headers, device signals)
• Circuit breakers + backpressure
• Queue + async processing for spikes

Goal:
make abuse expensive, not just blocked by IP.
