I cannot repeat the sordid details but we reached the unanimous decision that he wouldn't be returning. Boarding school does not teach you about life. It teaches you conformity. The only people who endorse it are the ones who bullied others or were friends of the bullies.
@Austeiin We gats drag you for the update.๐
It's an insult on what true Christianity stands for.
You believe using the world's system will work but the end result of it is producing false converts - people given over to mammon, rather than God.
Imagine if Jesus had done such.
"$6k for your past wrongs, $10k to cover for your past and present wrongs". ๐
Again, prosperity gospel<<<<<<<
I remember complaining last year about Apostle Femi Lazarus making his community registration on YouTube a paid one. But people told me, โIf you canโt pay to join, others who find it valuable and insightful will pay.โ
Well, guess what? He now has over 10,000+ paid community members. ๐
And let me burst your bubble: the teachings and messages shared with those who paid to join the community are not the same as what you get as a regular church member or someone who didnโt join the premium community.
Premium community teachings are different from regular/church member teachings.
So, whether we like it or not, people are willing to pay for value when they believe theyโre getting something extra.
Again, the truth is bitter.
@Austeiin Monetizing the gospel, innit?
Have you ever read โYour money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!", Acts 8:20?
Make a post critiquing the consumption of alcoholic beverages by believers today, and you will have a long day being dragged by faithful brothers and sisters of Geneva.
Some of them will even upload JPEGs of holy hands holding Heineken, yet nobody thinks it appropriate to say alcoholism is the idol of the Geneva Convention.
But when it comes to prayer and praying in tongues, the charge of idol is immediately levelled within a working day.
It is why conversations across these lines will constantly remain tensed.
Keep praying in tongues, let them wrongly label it your idol, like Daniel let it be that they will find no fault in you except in matters concerning your God.
Here's the video in question.
And he's spot on.
But looking at the interaction on this post, people are taking opportunity to either demonize speaking in tongues, perpetuate cessationism, and cast doubt unto this beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit.
The video didn't do that. The video speaks about excesses, and advocated for people to also pray in their understanding.
Personally, I've shared my experience with receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the first time I spoke in unknown tongues.
Though debatable for many charismatic, I personally believe that the gift of speaking in tongues should be what it is: an act of the Holy Spirit.
This is why I've a bias for beginning prayers in your understanding, and finding this gift of the Spirit finding expression along t the way. You'll discover that many times, it won't find expression too. That's how I personally pray though, most of the time if not every time.
To make prayer, a default, self-governed speaking in tongues is something I really don't concede to; but to say that this gift has ceased or shouldn't be coveted is also something I totally disagree with.
Make una no dey use one extreme enter another one.
My dad, around 2007/2008, told me something about the church:
โThe devil has found a way to fight from within with the approach of divisive debates. So, we leave the gospel and focus on debating what doesnโt save or point to the cross.โ
These debates are worthless.
@theJosephPeters That's the thing with hyper grace. More lies will have to be spewed to support the already established lies.
That he isn't popular is already showing that we might not even know the depth of errors these people have delved into.
