I think it was softer somewhat or a bit more open handed for many, but most believed that that’s where things were likely headed

I was an international student at IHOPU, but by the grace of God, I got a work visa for Canadians as a graphic designer.

I get to stay in KC, without going down with the ship.

I have struggled with the 'get out now' language - wanting to respect everyone's journey and see ppl come to their own conclusions.

However, I hope that #IHOPKC leadership promoting the prophetic history helps remaining staff see that the value is *still* ministry over people💔

@DunningAwen Recently when Mike told this one, fairly certain he said Augustine was also in his own bed while dreaming, as opposed to kneeling. Or he might’ve said open vision still but I don’t remember the kneeling.

Little details like that seemed to constantly shift.

IF I would have known that Bob Jones, Paul Cain , Mike Bickle were sexual abusers I would not have been involved at IHOP. If you preach the PH or allow it in your ministry be honest about who they were too. Let people discern for THEMSELVES the ministries they are in. #ihopkc

@realprophetguy @DunningAwen @JenniferVerdery Sheesh. I didn’t see a timeline drawn out even once. I actually had to sort of fight for it once my curiosity was piqued enough, and I had to dig through some old resources to finally find something on it.

I grew up with a different context for the “prayer movement” and joked about being a bit “mercenary” in my reasons for coming to ihop. I love prayer. But my family has noted the other values grew in me the longer I was there.

I also was part of an oddball group of OTI interns under the Steels in 2019 and then came back to IHOPU four years afterward and noted that people had different priorities. I knew quite a few ppl where the end times was a side topic (1/2)

@JenniferVerdery It’s interesting, cuz by my era of IHOPU the end times wasn’t remotely as much of a forefront focus of the org as before. Still a big deal but so much less than I heard from people that were there in previous years. It lost a lot of its frenzied edge I think. At least a smidge

I’m starting to do the hard work of unwinding some of the programming I’ve had while at IHOP. Even though I wasn’t here that long, I’m seeing its roots.

Pray for me. It’s awkward and sort of shameful the way prophetic history type destined-for-glory-frenzy can get in your head.

#IHOPKC has taken no accountability. They still state that Mike’s abuses are the fault of the AG. They had no plan to do 3rd party investigation. They’re still lying to the people inside & telling them this is a demonic attack against prayer.

#mikebickle needs to own up.
