After a year of this ihop stuff, Iโm left wondering how many are in ministry for their own ego vs how many are actually in to serve the body of Christ. You will know them by their fruit. #ihopkc#churchtoo
@AlistairMerrym1 This is WILD. ๐ซ I canโt even listen to her sing anymore. Like I skip her stuff. But now Iโm just going to delete it โฆ. Because nah !!!! ๐
@jonochall ๐ฏ When Mikes stuff came out , I started reading about the revivalists like during Asuza Street and was super shocked to see what I found๐ฉ Being an โordinaryโ Christian is highly underrated.
@GCAccountable@HazenStevens Have your staff ( especially pastorโs and internship and mission leaders) been trained in these areas so that if someone does come forward they are heard , taken seriously and cared for ? /3
@GCAccountable โSo we can really have your back ?โ Whose back ? I will never dehumanize a leader and recognize they need support and I get it. I really do. But shepherds and churches job is actually to protect THE PEOPLE ! /4
@GCAccountable And letโs be honest If we can pray for the ending of abortion and sex trafficking in the prayer roomโฆ. We better be sure to get policy and pastoring that will help protect people in our churches. Please get EXPERTS to advise on these matters. /3
@GCAccountable From my understanding shepherds protect not harm. Why is the focus not on protecting vulnerable people more? Iโm willing to have an open conversation about this and have . But protecting the vulnerable is a hill I am willing to DIE on. /2
@DavidAnder2206@andrewbullard15 They absolutely are not. I do think when you are in your 20s itโs hard to realize this ๐ซ Young people look up to their spiritual leaders especially when spiritual fatherhood language was used so much in our environments
@realprophetguy It is absolutely unacceptable in every way to speak about victims in this manner. Incredibly damaging to those who may need to come forward if they ever needed because how could they feel believed ? This needs to change so our churches can begin to be safer.
@andrewbullard15 My concern would also be for teens and young adults as well dealing with mental health issues. It is not safe to declare diagnosis without professionals speaking to that and of course with full consent from the person getting prayer. Again, thanks for your openness /2
@andrewbullard15 Andrew Iโm so sorry this happened to you at the ministry we both served in. Itโs never ok for anyone let alone a leader to declare something like this over a person. This is an actual diagnosis in the DSM-5 that belongs to professionals not prayer movement pastors. /1
