Thank you for giving us this platform to speak our truths, ideas, and perspectives. We couldn’t ask for a better reporter and journalist to highlight us @TheSandraG
.@SayezAlan, a casting director, said he saw early in his career that he could make change happen in entertainment. "Holy crap, me -- this Latino first-generation kid from LA -- can really make a difference in our industry."

Quick story that might give hope to film industry folks. My friend and regular DP, Will Stone, is at Sundance right now for the premiere of a movie he shot called YOUR MONSTER, starring Melissa Barrera. Four years ago he was living in Missouri shooting bank commercials. A thread:
Friendly reminder: if you’re facing rejection it means you’re in the arena.
And a whole hell of a lot of folks never even had the courage to step into the arena.
Easy to lose sight of that. When you’re in the arena.
Join us Friday, August 8/18 at Warner Brothers for the first ever collaboration by the Latine Committees of #SAGAFTRA the #WGAE and the #WGAW hosting a bi-coastal picket to celebrate and #SupportLatinoCreatives. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!
The last time actors and writers were on strike together, in 1960-
is how we got health care, pension, and residuals on broadcast film.
That didnt exist in the film and TV industry until then.
A lot is possible with this kind of solidarity and this is the perfect time for it.
This is for the strikers everywhere since I'm nowhere near a picket line. This is the least I can do:
I am an EMT in Florida, one of the hottest states in the country on a regular basis. These are things you can do to protect yourself from the heat

Because of the WGA & SAG strike that I fully support I can’t tweet about the show that will remain nameless that I star in and co-created but isn’t it crazy that me and Cillian Murphy do the same thing.
Disney+ removed both seasons of a show I’d staffed on from the platform, ensuring that I’ll never make another dollar in residuals from it, or be able to watch it again.
Mind you, the show gave them 11 Emmy Noms last year.
What’s “realistic” about that?
WHY HAVE A TV WRITER ON SET?
Since they already wrote the script (and rewrote it 8 times, and tweaked it after the table read)?
Glad you asked, here's a thread.
Less words more action. That’s what we need in the entertainment industry. We are all trying to survive but being selfish will not get us to the promise land.
To everyone who struggles in this industry, take a moment to forget about it solely as a business and remind yourself you once loved film and tv and that it touched your heart, and remember why you do what you do.
Let’s bring back the working class perspective into film and tv. It’s so important to celebrate earnest real people, having people with rich life experience is invaluable. We need them directing, writing, making all the stuff.
I have been completely overwhelmed by the response to my film.
Dozens of theaters, brands, and universities have contacted me. Thousands more have liked, shared, commented.
Thank you everyone for your interest.
I will post first theater dates and city locations soon. 🙏🏽
