Pocos saben que el himno rural de Juan Luis Guerra, ‘Ojalá que llueva café’, comenzó con la imagen mental de una lluvia de chocolate. Cierto día, a finales de los años 80, mientras JLG investigaba el folclore en Santiago de los Caballeros, conoció una persona que recopilaba poemas campesinos y, entre ellos, encontró uno que expresaba la necesidad de que cayera chocolate del cielo. La metáfora le pareció tan hermosa que decidió desarrollarla hasta transformarla en una canción que retratara la crisis y la problemática social dominicana.

Años después, Juan Luis Guerra le confesaría al escritor Leonardo Padura, en una entrevista para su libro ‘Los Rostros de la Salsa’, que por aquel entonces tenía como referente a Rubén Blades y sus crónicas hechas salsa, las cuales le habían demostrado que la música bailable podía, al mismo tiempo, narrar historias y retratar el contexto social de un pueblo.

THE “WORST OF THE WORST”: A NUN WITH A WORK PERMIT.

Sleep peacefully, America. ICE caught Sister Leticia Ugboaja walking to Sunday Mass.

She had a valid work permit, attended EVERY required immigration appointment and complied with EVERY condition of her court-ordered protection.

A nun. A nurse. Following the rules. Walking to church.

Thank God they got to her before she could receive Communion.

It took intervention from members of Congress to help secure her release. Apparently, a work permit and doing everything immigration officials require aren’t quite as effective as knowing someone in Congress.

So much for “do it the right way" hey MAGA????

Really love the reaction from Culers to Xavi getting back into coaching. I’m seeing barely any hate, everyone is genuinely happy for him and supporting him.

No matter how you rated Xavi as a coach, you can’t deny the impact he had on Barça’s rebuild. He took over the team in one of its worst possible states when very few people wanted to take that risk. Personally, I’ll always be grateful to him for that.

I think a lot of Culers sharing this happiness feel the same way. You can criticize Xavi as a coach and still love and respect him. You just can’t hate Xavi, especially considering everything he gave to Barça as a player and club legend.

Lawyers have reported clients disappearing from the database, which is complicating communication and emergency legal challenges.

People's names are vanishing overnight.

Without location data, legal teams can't schedule visitations, send key legal documents for signatures, or conduct urgent consultations.

Loved ones are being left completely in the dark and they can't determine whether a family member has been moved to a different facility, sent to a foreign country, or is still in US custody.

The ability to locate someone in government custody is a minimal protection against unchecked state power.

People in the USA deserve basic human rights regardless of their immigration or citizen status.

Xavi outplayed Klopp today, honestly. He was ahead of him tactically, technically, physically, in pretty much every aspect, and his team was on top throughout the game.

I really liked what I saw from his team. The pressing was better, they were more organized defensively without the ball, and the build-up from the back looked much cleaner.

Xavi started with a 4-3-3, which turned into a 4-1-1-4 during the build-up, while the team settled into a 3-2-5 shape in possession.

I genuinely believe this team will keep improving technically with more time under Xavi. Very happy for him.

The funniest thing about supporting Barcelona is that sometimes you don’t even need to argue with rival fans.

Some clubs spend fortunes searching the world for greatness. Barcelona once looked inside its academy and found the three best footballers on the planet.

And yes, we can already hear “15 Champions Leagues!” 😂👏
Congratulations.

European Cups matter. Of course they do.

But if your entire definition of footballing greatness begins and ends with counting one trophy, you’ve missed what makes Barcelona different.

Barça’s greatest flex isn’t just HOW MUCH we’ve won.

It’s HOW we’ve won and what we’ve built while doing it.

Cruyff left an idea.
La Masia built generations.

Pep’s Barça became a reference point for how football could be played.

Messi arrived as a kid and became the greatest player in not just the club’s history, but in football history.
Xavi. Iniesta. Busquets. Puyol. Messi. Lamine.
Different generations. Same institution.

You can have more European Cups.

Barcelona’s argument was never “we have the biggest number.”
Our flex is that football itself carries Barcelona’s fingerprints. 😉
And somehow the rest of the club decided to join the madness.

Barça won the FIRST EVER UEFA Youth League in 2014 and became the FIRST club to win it THREE times in 2025.

Imagine waiting for Barça’s golden generation to disappear only to discover there’s a factory underneath the club. 😭

And Barça Femení?

Please don’t bring them into this. It gets worse. 😂

Spanish Super Cup.

So we’re talking about European champions in the men’s game, European champions in the women’s game and record breaking European champions at youth level.
That’s what makes Barcelona annoying.

Messi leaves.
Xavi and Iniesta retire.
Pep leaves.
Great teams eventually disappear.

And then another generation walks out wearing Blaugrana.
Cruyff. Ronaldinho. Messi.
Xavi. Iniesta. Busquets.
Alexia. Aitana. Lamine.

Different eras. Same institution.

Some clubs built legendary trophy cabinets.

Barcelona built an identity, an academy and a footballing ecosystem.

So yes, count the trophies.

I think Flick's impact on Barça is going to go far beyond the trophies he's won with us or even the beautiful football we've played under him.

I think he'll be remembered as the coach who helped Barça update its football philosophy. Not by abandoning what Barça has always stood for, but by adapting those principles to the demands of modern football.

For years, there was this idea that as long as Barça had more possession, better technical players and could play "TIKI TAKA", the physical side of the game wasn't important. But modern football has made that approach impossible to sustain on its own. Intensity, physicality, and athleticism have become just as important as technical quality.

And that's what I think Flick has brought to Barça. He's shown that we don't have to choose between our traditional football and the physical demands of the modern game. We can still dominate through possession, combinations and technical quality while also being intense, aggressive and physically strong.

Just look at that Bayern vs PSG game last season. It was a perfect example of how modern football has evolved and why Barça's old approach needed an update.

Flick didn't completely change Barça's identity. He helped modernise it. And if that becomes part of the club's philosophy even after he's gone, I think that could end up being his biggest contribution to Barça.
