Rainbow Warrior crew aka the overseas bedwetters association is bidding farewell to Aotearoa for now.
A heartfelt Greenpeace bye bye to you all, but especially you @mangonui08.
Till next time. ✌️

With these animals so important to ocean health, and their shallow counterparts under intense pressure from climate change, we must protect deep sea corals from the destruction caused by bottom trawling.
Out on the @GreenpeaceNZ Seamounts Expedition last month on the High Seas, we witnessed live footage of a seamount that has been intensively fished by NZ bottom trawlers for decades.

The industry’s argument is desperate.
This is what a heavily trawled coral habitat looks like. And it proves there is no sustainble way to trawl a seamount. That is the truth they'd rather not face.
International review criticises NZ for behaviour at fisheries forum.
Remember last year when NZ blocked measures to protect biodiversity hotspots from bottom trawling?
Here's the verdict:

Yesterday at the Manuka Resources AGM in Sydney with matua Rukutai Watene of Ngāti Ruanui, we delivered a very clear message that seabed mining in Taranaki will not be tolerated.
They were not happy, and they did not want to listen, but they couldn't ignore our message.
The AGM was abandoned before we left the building.
This damaging seabed mining project has so far failed to get the green light under normal circumstances but now has a new lease of life via the fast track. It's also the sort of thing that would be even harder to fight if the Government's Treaty Principles Bill were to pass.
We will Resist seabed mining, we will Fight the Fast Track, and we will Toitū te Tiriti!
