China Warns EU Over Possible Sanctions on Third-Country Companies

The EU really needs to understand one thing:
China is not a small country waiting to be disciplined by Brussels.

You want to sanction Chinese companies, Turkish companies, Indian companies, and whoever else refuses to obey your anti-Russia script?

Fine.

But do not act shocked when China responds.

Unilateral sanctions without international law or UN authorization are not “rules.”
They are power politics dressed up as morality.

And the problem for Europe is simple:
China is not defenseless.
China has the industrial capacity, market size, supply chains, and countermeasures to make sanctions hurt both ways.

Europe keeps acting as if it still commands the world economy.
It does not.

If Brussels wants to turn sanctions into a habit, China can turn countermeasures into one too.

Do not pick a fight with the factory of the world and then cry when the factory checks your supply chain.

I’m skeptical that President Trump can secure a deal with Iran at this point in the war — I’ll explain why that is below, but let me first caveat my skepticism by reiterating: we don’t need to a deal to just declare victory and walk away. It’s the only way out of this mess in the short term that will deliver anything that looks like a win for the U.S.

Why can’t we reach a deal with Iran?

1. Iran believes they are winning—and they are not wrong to think they are. Iran is exploiting powerful leverage, which we delivered to them: closing the SOH has obviously significantly hindered the flow of oil/gas, putting massive pressure on us and the global economy.

Today, President Trump announced that the U.S. Navy has secretly escorted 200 oil tankers out of the SOH. While this is positive news and may have helped temper rising oil prices somewhat, the impact is not substantial enough to prevent a major energy crisis. These 200 tankers transiting the SOH over the past 100 days represent only about 2% of the normal volume—roughly 10,000 ships every 100 days—prior to the war. Furthermore, the U.S. has to deploy major naval and air assets to keep the SOH open. This is not sustainable and works to Iran’s advantage in the long run: Iran can disrupt commerce through the strait with relatively little effort, while the U.S. must risk two carrier battle groups simply to move 2% of the normal amount of oil and gas.

2. The Iranian hardliners have been emboldened and have no interest in reaching a deal. For years before the war, there was major tension between the moderates—who were open to dialogue with the U.S.—and the more militant factions of the Iranian government, primarily senior officers in the IRGC. At the outset of the war, we killed the leading moderate figure (moderate by Iranian standards), Supreme Leader Khamenei, along with several of his civilian counterparts like Ali Larijani. We’ve used the cover of peace talks as a ruse to launch attacks on Iran on two separate occasions. All of this bolstered the hardliners’ standpoint that we cannot be trusted in negotiations and that Iran had no choice but to fight.

3. Israel. Despite reports of tension between Bibi and Trump, the Israelis remain the spoiler of any progress towards a deal and prove it every time there are serious talks of peace. President Trump has made public statements urging Israel to show restraint, but has been ignored and, in many cases, outright defied. The Israelis consider any peace deal with Iran to be unacceptable and a major threat to their nation. Until President Trump takes away some U.S. military support from Israel, they will continue to sabotage any chance of a lasting peace.

Deutschland sei bereit, Sanktionen gegen Ben Griv zu akzeptieren, nicht aber gegen Smotrich. Smotrich bezeichnet sich selbst als „Faschist“. Er fordert die Vernichtung Gazas und beansprucht die Besiedlung Gazas, des Westjordanlands, Syriens und Libanons für Israel.

Schon im April blockierte Deutschland eine Abstimmung über Sanktionen gegen Israel. Obwohl eine Mehrheit der EU-Mitglieder dafür ist. Konkret ging es um die Aussetzung des EU-Assoziierungsabkommen mit Israel, durch das Israel bevorzugten Zugang zum europäischen Markt erhält und an EU-Fördergelder kommt. Deutschland bezeichnete den Versuch der Abstimmung als „unangebracht“ und verhindert ein Vorgehen der EU.

Nur einen Tag vor dem aktuellen Abstimmungsversuch der EU-Außenminister erfuhr Deutschland eine historische Niederlage bei der UN. Deutschland scheiterte mit seiner Bewerbung um einen Sitz bei der UN-Sicherheitskonferenz. Wegen Deutschlands Unterstützung Israels.

Die Bundesregierung Deutschlands wird vor dem Internationalen Gerichtshof beschuldigt, den israelischen Genozid an Palästinensern in Gaza unterstützt zu haben. Die Bundesregierung lehnt den Genozid-Vorwurf ab.

Der Internationale Strafgerichtshof (IStGH) hat Haftbefehle gegen Israels Führung wegen Kriegsverbrechen und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit in Gaza erlassen. There are still munitions buried underground. In addition the Soviet Union used the island when it was on friendly terms with Albania. After the relationship ruptured the Soviets abandoned a fleet of submarines in a base by Vlora. They eventually rotted and sank.

The project envisages turning this communist-era fortified island, riddled with abandoned bunkers and tunnels, into a luxury resort.

He needs to count the bunkers before he can submit a business plan.
And Albania declassified the island for civilian use one month after Trump won re-election.

The deal would see the bombed-out site of the former Yugoslav Ministry of Defense in Belgrade transformed into a luxury hotel complex. Bombs were dropped on the site in 1999 by NATO forces during the Serbia-Kosovo war.
The destroyed headquarters of the entire Yugoslav military apparatus.
Belgrade sits on top of a tangle of tunnels, shafts, caves and bunkers built across thousands of years. Military tunnels running under the city from Roman times through the Cold War. Tito built a nuclear-capable bunker beneath Kalemegdan Fortress to protect the Yugoslav government from Russian invasion.
Over a hundred machine gun nests and nuclear-capable bunkers were built under the fortress in the early 1950s. One remained a classified state secret until 2008.
Kushner targets the NATO-bombed headquarters of Yugoslavia's military, sitting directly above a documented Cold War underground tunnel network.
To get it, a heritage protection had to be stripped.
Prosecutors confirmed a cultural official admitted to forging a key document to lift the site's heritage protections and clear the way for the deal.

The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.

Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.
