“After being held for two and a half months, #FahimAzimi and #SiddiqullahAfghan were forcefully taken to jail by the Taliban. It's really concerning that they were not allowed to have a lawyer to help them and there's no evidence of them actually committing any crimes. This is just another example of how educated Afghans who try to bring knowledge to challenging situations are treated unfairly. It is disheartening to witness the Taliban's continued ban and arrest of individuals who seek to contribute to education, as the education of our children is crucial for shaping our future.

Zainab Alizai, an Afghan elementary school girl who recently completed her final exams, has a powerful message for world leaders. Despite her dreams of continuing her education, obtaining a Bachelor's degree, and becoming an education minister to provide opportunities for those deprived of education, today she finds herself facing a harsh reality. Due to Taliban’s law, she will no longer be allowed to study beyond the 6th grade. This heartbreaking setback highlights the urgent need for action to ensure that every child, regardless of their gender or background, has access to quality education.
