@AngelStrandTech@TokenGremlin For example, I like the Sol 6.1 benchmarks, but I still can't feel confident switching from Astra Ultra to Sol Ultra for my important work. I don't know why either; supposedly it's costing me like 4-5 times as much, but it still doesn't feel like it has the control I need yet.
@FLupi35753@itsvishaltwt Wrong word; I mean someone else leaked this and created a stir, and clearly, in the AI space, anything that seems new gets talked about. As if it's new. Obviously, I could do more research, but I spend less time looking at this stuff and more time using the models.
@AngelStrandTech@TokenGremlin I agree. How it operates within the controls you place on it is very different from the benchmarks. It's actually quite silly how dramatic people are being about benchmarks.
@tpacker@AestherML I think the echo chamber of X is misleading you. OpenAI has the largest user base of any AI platform in terms of people who actually pay. The difference is that Anthropic has higher-paying businesses, so they earn more. Google may have more consumers who don't pay, though.
@BReal_01@rohit3a@BReal_01 Isn't what you just claimed OpenAI did the same as what Anthropic did? Basically, they did what people asked them to, and all I still see is people complaining. Why is it that people seem to think they are owed stuff from companies they couldn't compete with themselves?
@FLupi35753@itsvishaltwt These figures were published recently; perhaps Anthropic isn't controlling information about economic performance in the news very well.
@e_samantha92@OpenAIDevs@OpenAI The thing is, OpenAI models are good; I really enjoyed using Astra. I think people are using it inefficiently, tbh. If Sol 6.1 is anything like Astra, it will be a great model. I think the issue is the communication layer between the prompt and the model.
@danielsuperone@thsottiaux If you want my personal opinion, people are having issues because they are obsessed with using Astra for every task. Astra should be what controls quality not execute simple tasks that can be managed by, luna, terra or sol...
@Neros0_@thsottiaux I 100% agree with this. If people want to start making money with their systems, they need the compute power and time for the trial and error required to launch money-making systems.
@thsottiaux@thsottiaux quick question: will the 20x subscriptions return in the near future? I could really use the compute for my projects and am trying to figure out how patient I need to be.
