Decided to casually over engineer a Phone specs website

Made a multi source web scraping pipeline, hooked it up to a local LLM cluster and programmed it to:
1. Merge specs from GSMArena and local cached databases.
2. Debate and resolve conflicting data dynamically.

Python + Flask + Ollama + raw JS/CSS. Fast, local, and incredibly smart.

Galaxy S23 Ultra user noticed that the back cover of his phone began to come off gradually after less than 3 years of using the phone, as shown in the photo!

Most people think "10-bit" is just a marketing buzzword. It’s not. 🚫
8-bit = 16.7 Million colors
10-bit = 1.07 BILLION colors

On a smartphone, you’ll notice this most in photos of sunsets, clear blue skies, or dark cinematic scenes. A 10-bit panel renders these transitions smoothly, making the image look like a window rather than a digital screen.

To truly enjoy HDR10+ or Dolby Vision content on Netflix or YouTube, a 10-bit panel is essential. These formats carry metadata for over a billion colors. An 8-bit screen has to "downsample" that data, often losing detail in the brightest highlights or deepest shadows.

It’s not just about vibrant colors. Having 1,024 shades of gray (versus 256) means that dark, moody scenes in movies have more texture and detail instead of just looking like a "crushed" black mess.

Not Good News, Galaxy Fam ⚠️

SamMobile has confirmed that a Samsung spokesperson clarified the Galaxy S26 Ultra actually features an 8-bit color depth display.

The brand is reducing banding using Frame Rate Control (FRC) — which simulates 10-bit color on an 8-bit panel (commonly known as 8-bit + FRC).

So it’s not a true 10-bit panel after all 👀
