🎯 Today, he is a senior cardiac perfusionist at the @MayoClinic and serves as Heart Attack Ethiopia’s program director for Perfusion.

🔑 His life shows what access can unlock.

Yet the sad reality is stark: more patients in Ethiopia are waiting for cardiac surgery today than when Mesfin was saved.

🎯 Across much of Africa, less than 5% of those who need cardiac surgery ever receive it—despite the field being over 100 years old.

🔐 The greatest unmet need in cardiovascular medicine is not innovation, but access!

Let’s ask the question: How many future surgeons, perfusionists, innovators, and leaders are we losing—not to incurable disease, but to lack of access?
