Winning cultures don’t have athletes pointing fingers, blaming others, or making excuses.
Winning cultures don't have coaches doing these things either.
Winning cultures have people coming together to find solutions, share results, and take responsibility for the process.
Due to Isabelle being a little heavy on her feet and more on her heels when fielding, we did this drill to get her lighter. Because we are going quickly, she has to be light and more on the balls on her feet in order to go back and forth quickly. After she fields, right foot replaces the left foot and when she’s going back, left foot will replace the right foot to get back to her fielding position.
Outfield reaction drill.
Coach or partner will be close and will be tossing a ball over your right or left shoulder without you knowing which way it’s going. Stay light on your feet and react accordingly. Stay low to the ground while taking that drop step in order to take the correct angle quickly and to gain some ground.
PLAYERS: It doesn’t matter if you're wearing your practice jersey or wearing your game jersey, you should have the same amount of pride in what you're doing and who you're representing. Be consistent in your effort, attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment.
MICHAEL JORDAN WORK ETHIC
“Every day in practice was like that to me. It was a competition.
So, when the game comes, there’s nothing that I haven’t already practiced. It’s a routine.
Whatever happens in the game now, okay I’ve done that before.”
'You will begin to get what you want when you stop making excuses for why you don't have it.' - Unknown
You can have excuses, or you can have results, but you can't have both.
When you lose all of your excuses, you will find your results.
Greatness cannot be found in a trophy case.
Greatness is not measured by wins and losses.
Greatness can be found in the relentless work ethic, passion, enthusiasm and will of a fearless competitor.
Great players change the game and make those around them better.
A champions best -ability is coachability.
Being coachable isn't a skill; it's a mindset.
Coachable athletes don't just listen-they act.
Average players see feedback as being called out.
Elite players understand feedback is being called up to a higher standard of excellence.
"Winning is fun... Sure. But winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you've done is the point."
