Just regained control of my X account after it was hacked earlier today.

The breach was limited to X. No other systems or accounts were effected. I was locked out of X for about 6 hours after the attacker changed my email and began impersonating me.

All standard security measures were in place, so this was clearly a targeted and sophisticated attack. Grateful to X support for acting quickly and effectively once involved. Relieved it's over folks.

First time I’ve experienced something like this. Seeing someone impersonate you in real time is totally bizarre. Huge thanks to everyone who flagged it and reached out. Stay safe 🙏
