This is my personal account for random posting - likely rants about politics, let's be honest.
My old account is now my Art account, which is @EllBalsonArt :
Look, maybe Bluesky has been left out of the social media ban because of political bias.
But it's probably just that Bluesky is irrelevant enough that no-one involved thought of it.
I will appeal to the Supreme Court and take it up to the European Court of Human Rights, if needs be.
However, we clearly can not rely on the legal system which completely stitched up the Filton case, and now the Palestine Action ban.
This fight can only be won by the people.
The second trial, with eight of the Filton 25, has begun today at the Old Bailey.
However, security are denying entry to all the family members and loved ones, demanding they have two forms of ID.
This rule has never been used before, and is clearly an intimidation tactic.

"Stare at a wall" is so apt bc there is literally nothing for kids to do here anymore. Parks are for young children, so teens get chased out, everything is super expensive so you can't go on a day out, and there's precious little nature left to explore.
Thats all you can do.
The UK Government can't deliver enough homes for young people, support social and labour mobility, or reduce the burden of student debt...
But it can ban you from watching YouTube past your bedtime.
Incredible.
NEW: Ban on Palestine Action ruled lawful by Court of Appeal.
Co-founder of PA, Huda Ammori, says she will “fight proscription all the way” to the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights to overturn “one of the most extreme attacks on free speech and the right to protest in modern British history”.
we're going to see unprecedented levels of teens playing on the street this summer, followed by unprecedented levels of curtain-twitchers posting photographs of teens on facebook going "WHOS KIDS R THESE. WHY ARE THEY OUTSIDE MY HOUSE. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE POLICE"
Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy because the UK government is focused on every other issue except the fact PEOPLE CAN’T AFFORD TO FILL THEIR FRIDGE???
I’m not a tech person so maybe this is dumb but isnt it easier to create a “children’s phone” at point of sale so you get a phone with built-in restrictions rather than asking every single person in the country whether they are over 16 or not through hackable digital ID software?
People making the point that this is about creeping authoritarianism aimed at adults, which it is, but the ongoing crusade for "parent's rights" e.g. to reaffirm that children are the property of their parents and deserve zero autonomy whatsoever is also a crucial aspect of this.
Jesus christ what an absolute shit show. Our judiciary is not only deeply reactionary and authoritarian but also just stupid. In no conceivable sense were the Suffragettes more peaceful than PA
This is absolutely insane.
The suffragettes used far more extreme tactics than Palestine Action.
They planted bombs, burned down private homes and smashed up art galleries.
They killed five people!
Her outrageous judgement is based on absurd historical ignorance.
Lógica do capitalismo: o trabalho assalariado é ótimo, mas a maior conquista que um trabalhador pode ter é virar patrão pra não ter que trabalhar para um patrão.
During this time, we’ve had five PMs (including Theresa May), three general elections, a global pandemic, multiple race riots, the rise and fall of the Labour Party, two US presidential elections - and yet, we haven’t been able to hold a single person accountable for Grenfell.
It’s incredible to me how people have moved on from this. It still stands as a reminder of the worst tragedy in London’s modern history and it feels like it has been totally swept under the rug
