I've fostered children and we can't hit them no matter what due to their previous trauma. Many countries raise kids without hurting them. You just have poor control over your emotions.

Iceland and Denmark are two of the most peaceful countries on earth and have banned it for decades. When adults say they have to hurt their children, I just think they have poor emotional regulation skills from being hit as kids.
