Have you spoken out as loudly as you can about the vitriol? If not, would you still be as silent as you are today if this were your kid. His crime in the eyes of these molesters? Being born Jewish. Your silence won’t be forgotten.
1/ "Release the hostages"
Why is that not the FIRST universal cry?
Why is that not the universal social media post?
How is intentionally kidnapping innocent children as hostages condonable, met with silence or worse screaming it by ripping down posters.
I don't understand it
There is no justification for acts of violence towards innocent civilians, and words feel insufficient in expressing the weight of my condemnation of the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas last weekend. Over this difficult week, as I've listened to friends and colleagues share their moments of dread, heartbreaking stories of loss, triggering of generational trauma, and their unquestionable anxieties over a surge of anti-Semitic sentiments globally and here in the US, my heart has grown heavier from the gravity of their pain and fear.
My conversations and personal reflection have reinforced two important truths: First, the undeniable importance of publicly expressing my personal support and standing in solidarity with the Jewish community. Second, the poignant reminder that many friends and neighbors are profoundly hurting, even when their suffering is hidden behind their stoic facades.
I unequivocally condemn the terrorist actions by Hamas and deeply mourn the tragic loss of all innocent lives that have and will result from these acts. I stand with the Jewish community and the people of Israel in these trying times. And I believe genuine empathy allows us to care deeply for one community without diminishing our care for others.
I know it is hard for founders to focus on reducing customer churn when your stomach is churning from watching the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas. It is hard to focus on growth while you're watching so much destruction. It is hard to focus on optimizing lifetime value when you're watching one of the most inhumane attacks in your lifetime. It is hard to be present when your head and your heart are elsewhere.
Take the time to care for yourself and others. Your morals matter more than metrics.
