Today is Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, and it’s day 122 of not forgetting James Talarico voted against banning transgender surgeries for minors in Texas.

The Democrats have two bills on the agenda that are entirely aimed at influencing the only branch of government that is not elected. One bill proposes increasing the number of Supreme Court justices from nine to 13. Another would cut their lifetime terms to 18 years.

One more reason it is imperative to not allow the Democrats to gain control of the House or Senate in November.

Our state has got to stop the invasion at the border and get serious about illegal immigration. So here’s the plan our party had legislatively for Texas:
-Stand up our own Texas Department of Homeland Security. Think of it as the state level Border Patrol on steroids. Their job: block illegal entries, shut down trafficking, and start deporting illegal aliens to their country of origin.
-Make it illegal for anybody to help or encourage illegal border crossing. We’re talking individuals, companies, nonprofits, local governments, even social media platforms. If you aid or incite it, you’re getting hit with mandatory fines and jail time. No exceptions.
-Every single employer in Texas has to use E-Verify. Break the rules? Expect big penalties that actually hurt no more slap on the wrist corporate welfare stuff.
-Cut off all the freebies: no more taxpayer funded subsidies, in-state tuition, or public school seats for people here illegally. The only thing they still get is emergency medical care when it’s truly life or death; everything else is off the table.

These properties should've been fully enacted in the last session. It's our imperative to hold our representatives accountable for not bringing our priorities into law and elect leaders who will do just that!

Bottom line: if you’re here illegally, Texas shouldn't be rolling out the welcome mat anymore.

Why on earth should we settle for some distant 2027 promise to eliminate property taxes, as if they're graciously tossing us crumbs after years of overreach? We shouldn't be appeased, not now, not ever, by a delayed "plan" that still forces us to keep paying this unjust tax for years longer. Property taxes are nothing short of legalized theft: the government claiming perpetual ownership over what you've already bought and paid for, holding your home hostage unless you keep paying rent to the state forever. Enough is enough. We should be demanding total elimination! No phase outs, no plans, and no more excuses. If they can find billions overnight for their pet projects, they can damn well abolish this predatory tax today.

The event was further distinguished by a surprise visit from @brianeharrison, who provided attendees with a timely update on his legislative accomplishments and the current state of affairs in Austin.
