@VoicesofWW2 My grandfather was a machinist on the USS Flounder. On 10 November 1944, north of the Lombok Strait in the Java Sea, Flounder put at least one torpedo into U-537. It exploded and sank with all hands, including commander Kapitänleutnant Peter Schrewe.
🚨🚨 THE ILLEGITIMACY PLAYBOOK / THE DEMOCRACY FILES: A PRIMER 🚨
I will be using this thread to track all drops, so bookmark it.
I spent most of yesterday backing everything (now 312 gigabytes) up in various sources and getting the materials out to others. I also produced an AI video (below) to explain the whole thing to others are not on 𝕏 - feel free to distribute.
Here's the primer:
USAID, the foreign aid agency, had a democracy office. Inside the agency, it was called DRG.
Officially, DRG administered "democracy assistance." They'd go inside countries they thought were sliding into authoritarianism and help the opposition there. That assistance included election monitoring, judicary support, independent media, and civil society building.
You may have heard the term "color revolution." The model comes from Serbia in 2000, where trained student activists brought down Milosevic with the help of Western governments, after sustained protests. With the help of USAID's democracy office, this model was implemented in many other countries to topple governments: Georgia's "Rose Revolution" in 2003, Ukraine's "Orange Revolution" in 2004, and many more.
Then last year, DOGE shut down USAID. But the USAID democracy office didn't stop. They formed a group called the Democracy Renewal Group, the same initials as their office (USAID Democracy, Human Rights, Governance). Their goal: apply their own playbook to the United States itself.
This goal became a plan, called Renew American Democracy (RAD). It invoked the "4 B's" framework. Block - use lawfare and protests to make life harder for the Trump administration. Bridge & Belong - control dialogue and win people over. The final and most important B is Build. Build means redesigning the American government itself, and the crisis is the opening.
In their own words:
"We can take that breakdown moment and leverage it for a big structural reform, you know, refounding moment." - Danielle Reiff, DRG lead.
Calls show DRG working alongside DSA on ideas of creating a different government, one that does away with the Constitution itself.
DRG does not run the Block operations. They hand it to UDA, the United Democracy Alliance. One organizer calls it a "huge galaxy": lawsuits, street protests, non-cooperation. They list No Kings, Indivisible, MoveOn, 50501, and many other mega-activist NGOs among their members.
Another organizer calls UDA Erica Chenoweth's project. Chenoweth is the Harvard professor behind the three-and-half-percent rule of regime change: get that share of a country's populace onto the streets, and historically, the movement wins.
The UDA is very "hush-hush." They have no website, no roster, no filings.
Then come the red lines: things the Trump administration could do, such as calling the Insurrection Act on protesters, that would mean that the federal government, in their words, "crosses the threshold into illegitimacy." Nobody voted on those lines. There was no public debate. These red lines were developed within secretive working groups, and in a paper addressed to governors and staff.
In the words of Reiff/DRG:
"So that if there is a red line crossed in terms of a Constitutional crisis, like everyone's already pre-organized. And so Mike Smith actually said, he goes, oh, you guys have the day after tomorrow plan."
Cross a line, and the paper's options include states refusing to lend their resources to federal officials, and governors convening what it calls a "Third Continential Congress."
Running the UDA's Insurrection Act working group: Rear Admiral Mike Smith (RET) of National Security Leaders of America (NSL4A). NSL4A is also credited with operationalizing UDA, the blocking operations. NSL4A consists of about 1,600 ex-officers, spies, diplomats. They're turning red lines into indicators and running a situation room to monitor them throughout the midterms and beyond.
The NSL4A's lawyers told them to stop recording meetings in case of subpoenas. But the rest of the network continued to record. DRG works in conjunction with Renew to Thrive (R2T), which ended up accidentally publishing 400+ calls and thousands of documents. These calls and documents were never meant for our eyes, but it's them, on tape.
Thousands of NGOs and billions of dollars are involved in this endeavor. Most of them believe they're saving democracy. The problem is that people who spent their careers deciding when other countries' governments had lost their legitimacy wrote that test for ours, in private, and planned for what comes after.
Who decides when your government is legitimate?

🚨 BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Ohio mental hospital CONFIRMS James Talarico was discharged from the facility earlier this week
The “flu” thing was a BIG FAT LIE
Following reporting by @SaraGonzalesTX and @CarolineWren, a hospital employee told @RheinAmacher and I that Talarico had in fact been a patient at the Lindner Center of Hope near Cincinnati, Ohio, which specializes in around-the-clock mental health treatment.
While I sympathize with those dealing with mental health crises, this man is CLEARLY not suited to become a US Senator representing over 30 MILLION TEXANS.
The job doesn’t get easier after being elected — it only gets MORE stressful.
And Talarico clearly can’t handle it.
I pray he gets the help he needs, but Texans need a real representative they can rely on.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
ATF Releases NFA guidance in response to the Texas NFA lawsuit:
"Effective October 9, 2026, ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and “any other weapon[s]” as defined in 26 U.S.C. § 5845(e). ATF will also no longer require such items to be registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. These policies apply uniformly to anyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just to the plaintiffs in the litigation."
A bit of history that is relevant today: Thomas Hickey, a private in George Washington’s Life Guard, was the first Continental Army soldier executed for treason.
He was court-martialed in New York on June 26, 1776, and convicted of sedition, mutiny, and “treacherous correspondence with the enemy.”
Washington approved the death sentence and ordered the brigades not on duty to march under arms and watch the hanging. Hickey was hanged at 11 a.m. on June 28, 1776, near the Bowery, before roughly 20,000 spectators. Washington’s orders that day called the execution a warning to every soldier against mutiny, sedition, and treachery.
In 1992, Bill Clinton won by lying for over a year, claiming Republicans had delivered “the worst economic performance since the Great Depression.”
James Carville supplied the slogan: “It's the economy, stupid.”
The accusation was nonsense. But the campaign worked.
In reality, the economy grew 3.5 percent in 1992, above the post-World War II average. It didn't matter. Republicans were mad at Bush for agreeing to a tax hike two years earlier and they sat home, while the media carried Clinton's lie as far as it would go.
Bush had major foreign-policy achievements. The Soviet Union had collapsed. His coalition had driven Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait. And again, the economy was growing.
But none of that saved him when his opponents defined what voters thought about their own country. Republicans were much too comfortable assuming a record of accomplishment would speak for itself.
It didn't. And that's the danger this November.
Under Trump, the poverty rate is at its lowest in American history. Child poverty is also at an historic low. Real inflation-adjusted median income is at an all-time high. The Atlanta Fed's latest GDPNow estimate puts third-quarter growth at a 3.7 percent annual rate.
Americans in the middle are getting ahead. Fewer Americans are living in poverty.
Yet we're supposed to accept that this is national ruin?
You would think a party that claims to care about working families would celebrate that. Instead, Democrats need Americans to believe that everything is getting worse, and too many conservatives are helping them.
The problem is, slower inflation doesn't erase the price increases that already happened. Under Biden, prices rose 21 percent between January 2021 and December 2024. The Democrats left Americans paying far more for the same things.
Biden exploded the price of everything. But cutting his inflation doesn't erase that.
Democrats want to blame Trump for the mess they left behind. As Obama said, elections have consequences. Trump is fixing everything in sight. But he doesn't have a magic wand, and the left burned the place down.
Why would we let them have another chance to do it again?
The answer is more production, better tools, and higher real wages. Build more homes. Produce more energy. Let businesses expand. Stop making Americans wait years for government permission to create something other Americans need.
A worker who can produce more in the same hour can earn more without forcing up the labor cost of every item he makes. A company that can invest in machinery, keep its profits, and expand can hire and train people. A company buried in taxes and regulations has fewer opportunities to offer anyone.
That's why Trump's tax policy, deregulation, energy, and investment growth matter to the family paying the grocery bill. Growth means higher wages and more opportunity.
Democrats sell dependency as compassion. They make it harder to produce, then promise government help paying for what has become too expensive.
That's the case Republicans have to make. Every day. In language people understand. With numbers they can check and consequences they can recognize.
It isn't enough to say Trump has accomplished a lot. Explain what those accomplishments mean for a family, a paycheck, a business, and a future. Then explain what the Democrats intend to do to the policies producing those gains.
Give them Congress, and expect investigations, obstruction, and every effort to restore the taxes and regulatory power Trump has cut. The people who made it harder to afford your life want to use the cost of living as their ticket back into power.
Reward that, and you teach every politician that creating a problem is a good way to get elected to solve it.
And don't wait for somebody in Washington to do it for you.
You have friends who only hear the bad news. You have relatives who think their vote doesn't matter. You know people who agree with you but won't bother showing up unless somebody asks them, reminds them, or gives them a ride.
That's your job. It's mine too.
Bush's record didn't save him when Democrats sold Americans an economic disaster that wasn't happening. Trump's record won't turn into votes by itself either.
Tell the story. Make the case. Take your friends to the polls.
Don't give the Democrats another 1992.
🖖Without Lucille Ball, there might be no Star Trek.
In the 1960s, Lucy was Hollywood's most powerful woman. After divorcing Desi Arnaz, she ran Desilu, the studio they built together.
In 1964, Desilu bought a pitch from a writer named Gene Roddenberry: a science fiction show set on a starship.
It was a gamble. NBC rejected the first pilot. The show was expensive, and Desilu was paying a large share of the cost. According to Desilu executives, the board wanted out.
Lucy reportedly overruled them.
The strange part is that she may not have fully understood the show. According to Desilu executive Herb Solow, she and Roddenberry never met, and her picture of the show was at first very different from what it became.
She backed it anyway.
Years later, Desilu's finance chief Ed Holly put it simply: "If it were not for Lucy, there would be no 'Star Trek' today."
The queen of sitcoms helped send the Enterprise into space.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has recommended — and President Donald J. Trump has approved — death by U.S. Army firing squad for convicted terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, the jihadist who opened fire on unarmed American soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009. He killed 13 people and wounded 32 others while shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.
The Secretary of the Army will set the time and place of the execution. Judgement day for Hasan has finally come.
