The NEC has declared 102 national constituencies for the December 2026 elections, based on the 2010 boundaries. Meanwhile, 39 political parties were reported fully registered as of 1 July 2026.

~ Transitional Government, formed under the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS), signed in 2018.

The peace framework required the Transitional Government to be dissolved exactly 3 months before the national elections.

The South Sudan Country Forum will assess the country’s readiness for the 22 December 2026 elections, focusing on preparedness, inclusive participation, information integrity, electoral security & rights, and practical actions.

Today, E-HORN met with @SSuNDE_Official to discuss the current political environment in South Sudan.

Today marked exactly 3 months to the planned December 2026 elections and was a monumental day for South Sudan.

It also marked the last day of operations for the ~
