Just seen a 'contract' issued by a #NHS team to a child with #T1Diabetes- that to keep their Insulin Pump- you must have 70% Time In Range.

Firstly? It's illegal to do so
Secondly? That's not even clinically logical
Importantly? Healthcare is about humanity

For clarity- this is NOT an ask from @NHSEngland

Just a reminder -at this stage.

Please don't do silly things.

Happy to be corrected if I am reading this wrong

But here is what I read it as from the perspective of an IMG -say from India- who has done PLAB- as regards opportunity for jobs

💥2026 Foundation programme: None

💥2026 Specialty Programme: Yes- but only if they have citizenship or Indefinite Right to remain.
(NB- minimal time needed to qualify for ILR: 5 years)

💥2027 Specialty Programme: Maybe- depending on experience -as defined by Secretart of State

Most LED posts -which actually prop up hospitals- are run by IMGs.
Most of these IMGs will NOT have 5 year stay in the UK.
They thus won't be eligible for specialty posts.

So options for them?

👉🏾Keep working in LED posts till they -maybe-get ILR
👉🏾Take specialty posts others dont want
👉🏾Leave -& those LED posts to be filled by local grads

On Thursday when I visited Poole and Bournemouth hospitals there were 250 Covid patients across both sites. This evening it stands at 308. @Tristan_UHD says @UHD_NHS projections for next two weeks are ‘frightening’.
