Our Lady of Champion is the only-approved Marian apparition in the United States.

In October 1859, a 28-year-old woman, Adele Brise, reported seeing a woman surrounded by a bright light, wearing a dazzling white gown with a yellow sash around her waist and a crown of stars above her head, standing between two trees.

Frightened, Adele prayed for the vision to depart. However, the following Sunday, October 9, while on her way to Mass, the Lady appeared to her again.

When the Lady appeared to her a third time, as she walked home from Mass, She told Adele:

“I am the Queen of Heaven, who prays for the conversion of sinners, and I wish you to do the same. I want you to gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they should know for salvation."

Twelve years later, in 1871, a firestorm swept through Wisconsin, threatening to consume the chapel built on the apparition site, but all who took refuge in the chapel were saved while over a million acres surrounding it were destroyed by the flames.

To this day, The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion continues to be a place of refuge and peace for thousands of pilgrims who travel there to pray for help and healing through the intercession of Our Lady of Champion, the Queen of Heaven and America.

Just after midnight Thursday, police say a Black man, Elijah Hemingway, got into his home in Edgewood and attacked him and his wife while they were asleep in their bed.

A police dog tracked down 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway hiding behind a nearby house with cuts on his hand.

He's now charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, and criminal trespass.

Back in February, according to a criminal complaint, Hemingway forced his way into his ex-partner's home and stole her laptop and two cell phones.

He was arrested in July. Two felonies. Burglary and theft.

And he was released on a NONMONETARY bond. Not a dime. He just walked out.

19-year-old Philippine Le Noir de Carlan, a brilliant student and scout leader, went for a walk in Paris during lunchtime.

In what should have been a safe part of the city, Philippine crossed paths with Taha Oualidat. This 22-year-old Moroccan was already convicted of rape and should have been in prison — but wasn’t.

Oualidat had also received a deportation order but this too wasn’t brought into effect because Morocco refused to accept him back. After Morocco's refusal, a French judge ordered Oualidat's release from the immigration detention centre where he was held.

Two weeks after his release, on September 20th 2024, Oualidat raped and strangled Philippine. The next day, after a big search was launched, Philippine’s family found her partially buried body in a park.
