People are judgemental as fuck, especially when they have no knowledge or involvement in the situation.
Three year olds are fast as fuck when they want to be.
Everyone's lost all ability to give grace to others. "If it was me" - well it isn't so pipe down.
Imagine discovering that, while you were fighting for answers about your son’s death, a government minister was discussing how to isolate you.
That is what happened to me.
In 2024, I was shown WhatsApp messages reportedly sent by Nadine Dorries to Matt Hancock while I was campaigning for a statutory public inquiry into mental-health deaths in Essex.
One message read:
“We aren’t going there… I’m picking off the other families and speaking to them one by one to get them on side to isolate her.”
I was “her”.
I was a bereaved mother asking the Government to investigate how my 20-year-old son, Matthew Leahy, died while detained in an NHS mental-health unit.
During the parliamentary debate on 30 November 2020, Nadine Dorries also stated that Matthew had taken his own life. Barbara Keeley MP immediately challenged this because Matthew’s inquest returned an open narrative verdict and I did not accept that account. Hansard was later formally corrected to say that Matthew “died by hanging while he was in the care of the NHS”.
After more than 105,000 people supported my petition, the Government established only a non-statutory inquiry—without the power to compel witnesses to give evidence. It eventually became unworkable because of poor staff cooperation and was not converted into a statutory inquiry until 2023.
No bereaved mother seeking the truth should ever be viewed as someone to be isolated, managed or silenced.
I was not the problem.
I was exposing the problem.
I am still here. I am still asking questions. And I will continue fighting for truth, accountability and safer mental-health services.
For Matthew—and for every family who deserves answers.

Two weeks on from the discovery of the body of a woman in Stanley Park, our enquiries remain ongoing to identify her and the person or persons responsible for her murder.
To date, we have been unable to identify the woman despite repeated public appeals.
➡️ Following forensic tests, we have been able to establish a DNA profile for the woman but there is no match on the national DNA database. It has also not been possible to compare dental records.
Detectives have been working round-the-clock to speak to potential witnesses and gather CCTV and forensic evidence.
The occupants of 625 properties in areas surrounding the park have been spoken to via house-to-house and CCTV from 30 private and commercial cameras in the area recovered.
So far, we have received 160 reports from members of the public and have eliminated 73 people from our enquiries after concerns were raised for people matching the description of the woman.
🚨 We are continuing to appeal for people to come forward with any information to help identify the woman who is described as white, believed to be around 70 years old, approximately 5ft 2in tall and of slight build, with strawberry blonde hair. She was found wearing a pink Nike T-shirt.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector John Fitzgerald 🗣️ “Our investigation remains ongoing and we remain determined to identity the woman and find the person or persons responsible for her murder.
“We are actively pursuing every call we receive to ensure that people are seen to be safe and well and can be eliminated from our enquiries.
“We are continuing to appeal for anyone who has been in the area of Stanley Park over recent weeks who has seen anything suspicious to contact us and also ask anyone who may have flown a drone over the park over the past couple of months to check their footage for anything significant.”
A tale of two Cambridge professors.
Jason Arday: wall-to-wall coverage, endless scrutiny and catastrophic reputational damage over serious allegations of academic misconduct.
James Orr: professor of ethics, public intellectual and former senior Reform UK political operator, filmed apparently discussing how to get around the law, yet barely a murmur about his position at Cambridge.
Funny how quickly the media’s appetite for institutional accountability can come and go.
It gets worse and worse. Reform is just a party of deranged pub bores protesting about everything and anything. They have no solutions of any kind and cannot sustain even the mildest scrutiny. Not a party for government, not now, not ever.

They continue to campaign today for pay equality and against discrimination and harassment.
Dolly Parton R.I.P.
@rosemeyer1939 Also, incredibly sadly, useful for your family scrambling to close your accounts when you've passed. A lot of folk are recommended to start doing this just so people can get access to the ones they need (NOT THE BANK, NEVER THE BANK THATS EASY TO SORT!), Amazon etc
@cyclist13@Paulieb668@merseyrail Yeah, I used to use it to work out if I wanted that person sat next to me, if it was a no there's a high chance of have picked up my bag and then got the next bus/moved down the train. I'm too old for people to harass now :) so I just tap the seat instead to get my space ;)
‘Patcham Woman’ lived and died in Roman Britain between the years 200-350 AD. She stood 5' 2" in height, with DNA analysis confirming that she had blue eyes and fair hair. She was breastfed for approximately 27 months, and in adulthood, ate meat and dairy products but no fish...
I think this has probably shocked me more than anything else.
The Times ran multiple ads trashing Jason Arday. This one reached 195,746 people & ran until Aug 16 - today.
There’s a rearguard action to defend journalism. But this isn’t journalism. It’s monetised racebait.
