Fantastic plenary talk from Dr. Sara Gray at #CAEP26. Moral injury is prevalent among Canadian physicians - Thank you for sharing strategies to battle these types of injury in the ED.
A practical guide to using antibiotics more thoughtfully in the ED:
We always hear so much about antibiotic stewardship, but it can be hard to change practice patterns.
We present a Bayesian thought process around antibiotic usage, and specific case presentations where we can optimize our practice.

What if CPR leadership didn’t have to rely solely on physicians? The Nurse Co-Leader model improves organization and reduces delays: nurses can lead compressions, defibrillation, and timing.

📌 Better coordination, improved outcomes
@EmICUcanada ¿Y si el liderazgo en RCP no fuera solo del médico? El modelo Nurse Co-Leader mejora organización y reduce retrasos: enfermería puede liderar compresiones, desfibrilación y tiempos.

Do billing codes actually show how hard you’re working? 🩺🤔
A new @CJEMonline study suggests the answer is: Not really.
Researchers found that while billing codes correlate with patient acuity (CTAS levels), they fail to reflect the discrete elements of physician work—like labs, meds, or teaching—independent of visit complexity.
The Bottom Line:
❌ Billing codes are a limited surrogate for workload.
⚠️ Relying on them may hinder efforts to optimize staffing & prevent burnout.
✅ We need new, validated metrics that capture the true cognitive & physical intensity of the pediatric ED.

@davidcarr333@DennisCho@petrosoniak@EmICUcanada Such a great talk with pearls you can use at the bedside.
Love the tip about ice packs and warming the syringe. I do these with kids routinely but easily could be and should be done with adults too.
How many of you EM physicians out there are doing post ROSC pan CT scan routinely?
@EmICUcanada@petrosoniak@davidcarr333
I’m hearing strong recommendations for this!
@DennisCho stop thinking that bupivicaine takes longer than lidocaine to start working. Take advantage of the longer duration of action. @ETtube @petrosoniak @EmICUcanada
