@AmazonHelp The webpage you’ve entered is not a functioning page, go to homepage. So the link doesn’t work. I’ve got to go out now and won’t be pack until about 7pm. Parcels still in Evri’s Carlisle depot and likely to remain there or disappear.
@SamRaincock@thepaddock1892 Exactly. Same here. Generally the village is spotless but the Monday Men do pick up litter if we see it. Unfortunately some of our residents ditch their Hexham takeaways out of their car windows on the way home so as not to fill up their bins at home! Lack of pride in their place
@AmazonHelp Thank you for your response Christie. I’ve tried going through my account but I get sent down rabbit holes that lead nowhere. I’m very disappointed that Evri is being used. The service we get locally is absolutely hopeless. Most things I order that come via them *never* arrives.
Ordered two items from Amazon (as a Prime customer) and guess what? They are being ‘delivered’ by Evri. Both items should’ve been delivered today, one now supposed to be coming on 19th (‘or let us know if you don’t get it then’) and the other now 21st. Hopeless delivery company.
@ABFixby My wife regularly sends postcards to an elderly former neighbour of our son’s who lives 400 miles away from us in a nursing home. When we go somewhere for the day or a couple of days away she will go to the carousel stand and pick up half a dozen. She writes on each one.
John Eric Bartholomew, AKA Eric Morecambe, was born 100 years ago today.
Few people in history have made as many people laugh as Eric, and as someone whose life was dedicated to that purpose, I am sure it is an accolade he would have been incredibly proud of.
For me, Eric’s brilliance lay not just in the laughter he created, but in the anticipation of the laughter to come. That gift was omnipresent, following him like a comedic halo. To see him was to smile instinctively, followed quickly by genuine laughter. His friend Tommy Cooper possessed that same rare quality, and I have many treasured memories of watching them both when I was young.
Thanks to social media, Eric’s work continues to be enjoyed by millions worldwide every day, and appreciation for his immense talent only grows. Long may that continue.
Here he is, with Ernie and Mr Preview, creating some 22 karat TV comedy gold.
God bless Eric Morecambe x
