.@MeteoKenya has today released the forecast for the upcoming October-November-December rainy season.
Western Kenya is likely to see near to slightly above average rainfall, while central regions, some northeastern and southeastern areas, and the Coastal region are expected to experience below average rainfall with poor distribution.
Temperatures will be warmer than usual in most parts.
The Kenya Red Cross will closely monitor the situation and continue working with @MeteoKenya and other partners to co-develop climate information, ensuring communities are well-prepared through anticipatory action.
Gathered in Nakuru for the 9th National Climate Outlook Forum, the Kenya Red Cross and @ICHA_KRC, alongside various Government ministries, @MeteoKenya, @IGAD_CPAC, @WFP_Kenya and @UNDPKenya, are focused on refining our early warning systems.
Under the theme 'Proactive Early Warning Systems for Climate Risks Reduction,' we are evaluating last season's forecast and how the country responded to the climate information provided, all to better safeguard communities during the upcoming October-November-December short rains season.
At the end of the forum, the multi-stakeholders will co-develop sector-based advisories.
Kenya Red Cross Society, in partnership with Danish Red Cross, National Government, County Government, and other partners, launched a project on Youth Social and Economic Empowerment in Likoni Sub County at Shikaadabu.
