@vinessence@damola_ade77@Row_Haastrup Neither was Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, Elijah et al. However they worshipped the same Holy God that "Christians" today do. Many of them prophecied about the coming Messiah, many of them had the Holy Spirit upon them to work different signs and wonders too. What's your point?
@bashoroon@Raynerdtech What 200k HW will run MacOS? there's only 1 big issue. At that price point, Apple has no HW for MacOS, however, the point is, if they did, it'd work great. They put a phone chip on a laptop that runs MacOS and the biggest problem is the RAM should tell you all you need to know...
@bashoroon@Raynerdtech A remark fueled by ignorance. Put Linux or even MacOS on that "200k" laptop and watch it flourish, yet someone is here defending what is wrong.
On the other hand, you just answered the question of the OP, windows can't run well on 200k laptops 🤷
@leviackermanft What you're experiencing is why Regional launches are very important.
Not only do the manufacturers tweak the Software to suit the region's language and format style etc, they also configure their modems to match the bands that the ISPs in that region support.
@davidknoronha@iHateApplee@Mrwhosetheboss The aspect ratio of the Huawei Pura X was also known for months before the iPhone Duo, by your logic, the iPhone copied the Huawei?
Also, Samsung and Xiaomi and almost every other company has been making foldable before Apple, so Apple copied the foldable from them
@ellis_poh@GJYYNGII@interesting_aIl And now you realize? after calling him stupid and dumbass multiple times.
It would've saved you the tomfoolery if you'd only done the right thing first (Verify the claim). Think what other area of your life you might be doing this
@jasimania_@stats_feed Great, first step done. Now take the translated output, feed it to a new chat on Gemini or Claude and tell it to make coherent sentences from it 😉
@LindenFreeze@Windscribe@ProtonVPN This is what people should be more interested in. Not that ProtonVPNs actions are justifiable but at least they keep you to you.
@One_Hollarzhy@FutureStacked Apart from having a paid version, MX Player also has ads. And now that theyve been fully integrated into Prime Video, you can expect that to increase
Let me tell you how it happened. Nigeria’s ginger export hit zero from N26 billion within 3 years.
The official story blames fungal blight.
But here is what actually happened. When Nigerian farmers lost their indigenous seed supply, grant-aided interventions arrived with replacement seeds.
An associate professor at Lagos Business School flagged publicly that some of those interventions involved GMO organisms that weakened indigenous crops and compromised soil health.
That is not a conspiracy theory because it is a documented academic concern.
Now that Nigeria spoke got destroyed by the GMO seedlings….what is not the result?
Nigeria was forced to import ginger from China to fill domestic demand. Chinese ginger has none of the pungency, oleoresin content, or quality that made Nigerian ginger a global premium product. And the ginger now sitting in Nigerian markets tastes like wood because it essentially is wood.
The two indigenous varieties that built Nigeria’s global ginger reputation, the Tafin Giwa and Yatsun Biri, had decades of soil relationship and quality built into them.
Once the soil was degraded and those seed varieties were displaced, the product that returned was a pale imitation. Nigeria did not just lose a market. It lost a seed. And without a National Ginger Seed Bank, which nobody has built, it may never fully get it back.
🚨GOOGLE JUST SILENTLY DOWNLOADED A 4GB AI MODEL TO YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT ASKING.. WITHOUT TELLING YOU.. AND WITHOUT ANY WAY TO STOP IT..
If you use Chrome.. There's a good chance a 4 gigabyte file is sitting on your hard drive right now that you never agreed to download..
It's called Gemini Nano.. Google's on-device AI model.. A security researcher just proved it installs itself with zero clicks.. Zero prompts.. Zero notifications..
Alexander Hanff set up a completely fresh Chrome profile.. Didn't click anything.. Didn't scroll.. Didn't type a single keystroke.. Just opened the browser and watched..
14 minutes and 28 seconds later.. Chrome had silently scanned his hardware.. Read his GPU, RAM, and storage.. Then wrote a 4GB file to his hard drive.. No permission dialog.. Nothing..
Chrome's own logs show the download begins BEFORE the settings page where you could opt out is even loaded.. The file starts installing before the refusal button exists..
As of Chrome 148.. Any website you visit can trigger this download.. One line of JavaScript.. You click a link to read a blog post.. That click counts as "user activation".. And Chrome silently pulls 4GB in the background..
No install prompt.. No consent dialog.. Google's own docs admit this..
Your laptop overheats.. Storage disappears.. Battery drains.. And you have no idea why..
The model doesn't even work well.. Cloud requests take 1.3 seconds.. The local model at worst case takes over 9 minutes for a single response..
Google is using your storage, electricity, and bandwidth to run an AI that's 40 times slower than their own servers..
And the "AI Mode" button in Chrome's address bar.. Doesn't even use the local model.. It sends everything to Google's cloud anyway..
You pay the storage penalty.. The heat penalty.. The bandwidth penalty.. And the visible AI feature ignores the local file entirely..
Because Chrome fails to clean up old versions.. Users are finding 12GB or more of duplicate AI files stacked on their drives..
Palo Alto Networks found a vulnerability where a browser extension could hijack the local AI model's permissions.. Accessing your webcam.. Microphone.. Local files.. Through an AI you never installed..
Here's how to check if it's on your machine..
Windows.. C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\OptGuideOnDeviceModel\
Mac.. ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/OptGuideOnDeviceModel/
If there's a file called weights.bin.. Google downloaded their AI to your computer without asking..
To stop it.. Type chrome://flags.. Search "optimization-guide-on-device-model" and disable it.. Search "prompt-api-for-gemini-nano" and disable that too.. Restart Chrome.. Then manually delete the folder..
If you don't disable the flags first.. Chrome redownloads the 4GB file on next launch..
Firefox requires explicit opt-in for AI.. Apple Intelligence requires explicit consent.. Chrome just takes your hard drive..
Google didn't ask to use your storage.. Your electricity.. Your bandwidth..
They just took it.
@ebencreates@juiceboy_of_abj@AirtelNigeria On the ODU I changed DNS to Cloud flare and secondary as Google. You can only do Auto or 5G NSA(which is worse). I've turned off 5GHz spectrum. The one thing remaining is changing APN settings - needless to say, none of the above had any significant +ve impact
@juiceboy_of_abj@AirtelNigeria The ODU has frustrated me to pieces and the worst is that I was the one who encouraged an organization to buy it. It's just embarrassing, there's no kind of network config I haven't used. How in the world will my phone have better access than a flipping router from the same ISP
