new talk - https://t.co/qDa0PVFGPQ covers some key ways in which biological computation is different from most of today's computer architectures, and concludes with a different way to think about emergence of cognition (not just complexity or unpredictability) in both biological and artificial intelligences.
Sometimes I wonder how many versions of myself I've outgrown without even noticing. I look back at old photos and remember the thoughts I used to carry, the dreams I thought would save me. It's strange how you can live inside yourself every day and still not realize you're evolving. It's only when you look back that you realize how far you've come, how many lives you've already lived in the same skin.
Thanks Congress 😡
Starting October 19, airlines are no longer required to offer compensation – lodging, meals, or other assistance when delays or cancellations occur, even if it’s their fault – under 14 CFR 234.4,
Today on TSEE, we look into a cool new imaging approach—WHOLISTIC, which allows us to see inside nearly the whole body of a living organism at once.
Life doesn't happen one molecule or one organ at a time. Energy constantly transforms and information constantly moves throughout our bodies. The new technique deployed in small zebrafish gives us the chance to see and to study life as a dynamic, coordinated process.
While we are still a long way from applying this to humans, it is an important step towards developing tools that allow us to see and appreciate the dynamic, coordinated activities that underlie the biology of life. The biology of healing is dynamic, distributed, and energetic.

Today we announced interim data from our first-in-human, Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating our lead program in optic neuropathies, showing it was well-tolerated by 3 participants with glaucoma.

"There is a memory of youth in every cell, even cancer cells." I was in the room at ARDD 2026 as @davidasinclair showed, for the first time in public, his Harvard lab switching on 3 reset genes in colon cancer cells. By day 10, the dish was nearly empty.
Congrats to Christopher Petty, Kelly Rich and the Sinclair lab at Harvard on today's #ARDD2026 talk: a first look at SL-100 in mice.
On this chemical reprogramming cocktail, fast-aging mice kept their weight and didn't get frailer. Untreated mice did. Early, unpublished data.
@erikbryn The numbers often get revised downward too. Is anyone putting together a platform for 2028 to addresses the changes ahead? I would like to provide input but I can't figure out where to go. Also, please look at US energy per capita since 2008. I use https://t.co/QBmqa9NXk2
FDA officials sketch how a therapy targeting aging might reach approval, revealing longevity is an FDA priority
Yeah, that’s a big deal

Incendiamoeba cascadensis, a newly discovered lifeform on Earth, can survive at 147’F (64’C). Bodes well for extraterrestrial life

New news: Life Biosciences will present first-in-human data from the Phase 1 trial of ER-100 in optic neuropathies at the Eyecelerator Conference in New Orleans, Oct, 8, 2026, 2:10PM CT 👀
Our lab’s v2 in vivo age-restoration technology is fundamentally different from the v1 technology now in human trials. We’ll reveal it publicly at @ARDD_Meeting: Chris Petty, Thurs 1:30 p.m. ET, and me, Sat 6 p.m. ET
I think grief teaches you in its backwards way, to notice the magic while it’s still happening—to look up at a sky full of stars and realize you’ll miss this exact night someday...
Michael's idea is aging results when cells lose their ability to coordinate & maintain the whole organism. We propose aging's a reversible loss of epigenetic information
Maybe same process. Information loss may cause cells to lose coordination. We should test it @drmichaellevin
@davidasinclair During cell division arrest osmosis becomes dis-regulated. With each division the cell becomes larger. This disrupts bio-electrical communication and disturbs the histones. Am I close? I swore I wouldn't post on this site. Won't you come to Bluesky?
