The new cyber strategy should make some waves. Bold tone; robust declaration that we will commit to winning in this domain.

🧵ICYMI: A few thoughts post press conference from our ED, Carrie Filipetti, former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cuba and Venezuela in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and the Deputy Special Representative for Venezuela at the U.S. Department of State.
A few things the President seemed to get right, and a few things on which I have serious disagreements. Most notably, the allusions to US control of Venezuela and the lack of understanding about MCM's remarkable base of support. If we want to keep America and Venezuela safe, supporting the democratic transition is the bets way.

Bullies like Putin only respond to strength. This reported “deal” is just a signal that Russia (and China) can take what they want.
