I’m going to give 5 people that retweet this tweet $10,000 each to celebrate Christmas! (Make sure you follow me so I can dm you if you win!). I will show proof!
Food insecurity is a problem. Subsidizing vegetables and fruits would reduce prices. Supplements can be dangerous. Food tech=cookies w/ DDG. Walkability in a town increases physical activity. #honorsgrandchallenges
Did you know adults should have at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity a week? "But I don't have time," you say. Well, make it part of your weekly chores! #honorsgrandchallenges

Did you know P&G tried to get olestra approved by the FDA for 30 years? (Nestle, Food Politics) It shows how much work food companies are willing to go to attract customers.

@lollaurenhonors That's awesome! Why don't more schools have gardens or greenhouses that students use to grow food for more nutritious meals? #honorsgrandchallenges
The WellSAT is a great tool to evaluate your school's wellness policy. If you can find it. My school only offered this online: https://t.co/FFIfEIYu0c Check out the WellSAT here: https://t.co/RLz1lNXk1u

@lollaurenhonors The SNAP Challenge restricted me too. It was hard for me with my allergies, since I can't eat cheap hotdogs or chicken ramen. I cannot imagine how hard it is to have only $4.40 a day with a more restrictive diet like gluten-free or corn-free. #honorsgrandchallenges#SNAPchallenge
Did you know that the average person on SNAP has $4.40 for food a day? At the SDSU C-Store, that’s about $9.27 with 221% inflation. Such a budget limited me from buying fresh fruit :( #SNAPchallenge#honorsgrandchallenges
@AshleyH47798454 It is very interesting how supply affects demand. Because of subsidies, more farmers grow subsidized crops, which leads to more products made from those subsidized crops. So why aren't we subsidizing more fruits and veggies? #honorsgrandchallenges
The U.S. government provides crop insurance for 130+ crops through its farm safety net parts of the Farm bill. Learn more about the 2018 Farm Bill here: https://t.co/WuWosWx7UT #honorsgrandchallenges
@SamuelLing14 The public needs to be educated about this issue. I never knew about it until this class. What if we informed students in high school health classes?

Because of the DSHEA Act of 1994, the FDA can only remove supplements after they’ve been proven to harmful. Read about the FDA’s actions against harmful supplements from Dr. Cohen here: https://t.co/6ScNcZ6vRp
