We discussed Bloom's Taxonomy, which shows different levels of how we teach students. Using Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, we brainstormed ideas about activities we could assign students for each level of the taxonomy. We found that apply and analyze were similar. #educ200#03sp22
@aliviapalmer23 I never knew there were so many different forms of biases. We looked through all different types of textbooks (Spanish, math, history, etc.) and because they were more recent editions, I was happy to see that it was hard to find the forms of biases in them. #educ200#03sp22
@nadinejmcintyre @rbathursthunt Hi, I'm a future teacher at JMU. I just wanted to say that I love this post and that to have a student take initiative like that, you probably have very engaging lessons and really keep them interested! I hope to be like you someday soon! #educ200#03sp22
@BryerSmith7 Some people view equity and equality as being the same thing or confuse the terms. Equality is where everyone gets the same thing, where equity is everyone gets what they need based on their circumstances to get to the same place. As teachers we should strive for equity in class.
@RGinghina During the week I enjoyed investigating the philosophies of education and finding the one that we most agreed with. Through the reading/research, I realized that my teachers have used many different combinations of the philosophies to teach their classes. #03sp22#educ200
@KaleighDoris I agree with you that reading the articles was very eye opening. I know racism is still a huge problem in our world, but I didn't ever think about how much it could affect traveling and things that are supposed to be fun.
In class on Monday we talked about what we would bring with us if robots invaded. We came up with a few categories and then talked about what schools provide that fulfill those categories. #03sp22#EDUC200
@semajcorbin_ I really loved being reminded of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and realizing how much impact teachers have on being able to help fill students' pyramids.
@FVencetia Hi Vena! I saw the google norm of impact. I think those who picked up the beads could see the change in the environment that they were making. Because of them, they will get to reuse the beads instead of making more waste next year. #educ200#03sp22
@aliviapalmer23 Hey Alivia, I agree that the employees realize their impact, and I also think their team shows clear goals and defined roles. Employees all have their own job, but also a shared goal of providing the most magical Disney experience. #educ200#03sp22
Pt. 1 After three firefighters were killed on the job in Baltimore City, fire departments from other areas stepped up to send their own firefighters to service the station while the Baltimore City firefighters attended the memorial service. #03sp22#educ200
Pt. 2 This shows the google norms of impact and meaning because firefighters from other areas are giving up their time, showing their work means something to them, and they know their work will create impact as they protect the community of the firefighters who are in mourning.
