FYI the point of dismantling weight stigma in healthcare is not to "be body positive" it's to literally save the lives of the individuals consistently being harmed by neglection of care and marginalization
I want to produce/write/curate a #simulation to prioritize #interprofessionaleducation in healthcare as research shows that students are also subjected to the normalization of #weightbias throughout their training and education. Thoughts?

I’m quite convinced that if dietitians had the influence and power that critics think we do over the American public or our food supply, we’d be in a much different reality
Y’all think we still promote the food pyramid for some reason
Before reinventing the wheel - does anyone have a combined dataset for @CDCgov NHANES 2017-2018? Or know someone I could kindly ask 😊 Currently utilizing R #medtwitter#rstats#DataAnalytics
Thoughts from @HpedIhp seminar regarding students use of AI including @ChatgptReal: technology is changing and we need to keep up with it. The question shouldn’t be: should we allow students to use it?. The question should be: how can we teach them to use it responsibly? #MedEd
@Joseph_Watso@sguyenet Do you mean ghrelin? Or are you saying “high salt intake” increases fullness…
It’s ironic because you also mention “avoiding obesity” in this 🧵. Restriction (dieting) for weight loss can lead to increases in ghrelin & decrease in leptin. Right @rachelepojednic ?
The biggest problem with the BMI is NOT that it was created by a 19th century Belgian mathematician. Or that it sometimes "misclassifies" muscular people as "ob*se" who aren't fat. It's the way it's used to pathologize bodies, perpetuate weight stigma, and deny access to care.
Researchers with advice for someone new to independent publishing (within an institution)…
Did you reach out to editors explaining your research wasn’t funded to avoid publishing fees? Advise otherwise?🫠

@masoomaamini624@AniOurfalian@beh353 We should listen to what our bodies want! When we don't the food becomes more enticing which actually increases the amount of that food and the shame!
When someone uses the word “healthy” as an adjective I always try to question what that word actually means in the sentence. Often times, the word they end up replacing it with is “different.” Foods are just different. Neutrally different.
