International Volunteers Day 2023
We have some truly fantastic volunteers and peers who give their time to help and serve others. We could not do the important work we do without them!
Here is a big shout out to all of you that give your time to Kaleidoscope! Thank you!
Time to talk. Time to help our churches, schools and whole community. Including those in our community who have no home, and who use drugs. Let's also talk to - and listen to - them.
🏆 The Police and Crime Commissioner Exceptional Problem Solving in Partnership Award goes to:

Great to hear @ITVDean take a keen interest in discussions with Rick from @CyfleCymru & @Dechrau_Newydd Manager Tony about the impact of the #CostOfLivingCrisis on #ServiceUsers of drug and alcohol services across #Wales.
Tune in to @ITVWales at 6pm tonight for the full story.
"What do you do with people who have lost their souls?...You show them love, compassion you give them purpose, make them feel connected...I'm going to ask you right now, do you do in all your work?" @GBMC73 @ #APAconf22
The reality is what we are doing to support vulnerable drug users is not good enough. We have a duty to do more @Kaleidoscope68. At @LSRPlaid @PeredurPlaidAS @RhunapIorwerth@LeanneWood this is the issue we talked about
Celebrating my husband becoming a finalist at the TVA Awards for his achievements supporting young people in the angling community! Super proud! Good luck Mr C! #torfaensaysthanks
Today launched the Welsh National Peer Network & nice people who use drugs (PWUD). For #Peers in #Wales to have their place for connecting, support and advice. Working together & interacting with each other. How fantastic that they will be working together to make a difference!
@CyfleCymruGwent thanks to everyone who made this project such a success. Sadly the @WelshGovernment have in effect moved our service to Cardiff & the Vale but I am so proud of what you achieved for some of the most vulnerable people and gave them real life opportunities.
Last week in #Cardiff @RondineM (Head of @TheGDAS) and @CullanMais (#PeerMentor for Service User Involvement with @VoicesActionCh1) spent time advocating peer-led approaches to service evaluation. They presented their peer-led survey to Camarus.
Good work both!! #peerled#peers
We continue to celebrate our Platinum accreditation from @IIP.
We are all about ensuring that people with lived experience of #drug and #alcohol use are at the heart of everything we do.
Why? It SAVES LIVES. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?! #HarmReduction#peerled
It was a fascinating visit, learning how injecting and #BBV like HIV and Hep-C have plummeted since the law was changed.
It was rounded off by @TheGDAS#Peer Mick giving the team #Naloxone training
#prideintheport in #newport. Claire & Laura from @TheGDAS & peers.
They carried out #naloxone training on the day - 36 training sessions were completed and kits provided 🙌
Their message for the day was "if you're going to drink or use substances, do it safely". #HarmReduction
Tomorrow @RecoveryCymru is excited to have @Tommy_HR_NPT from @CAVDAS22 who will be talking to our members about co-production, meaningful service user involvement & the importance of lived experience, APB representation & opportunities for partnership working within CAVDAS!
