Manx Shearwater chick EM82816 was last seen on 26th August, its wing about 10mm short of fledging length. It was found exhausted on a Brazilian beach on 8th October, 43 days later. So 216km a day and in reality a lot more than that
This is the sort of place your helium birthday balloons end up when you let them go, or worse still, in the oceans where there's a good chance they'll end up in the belly of a whale, a turtle or a seabird. Dispose of them responsibly, please! 🙏 @N_T_S@mcsuk
