Was asked to look at my mom’s dog’s brain MRI today.

A few thoughts: dog brains are remarkably similar to human brains, just comically tiny. Veterinary MRI uses many of the same sequences we use in humans.

19/In fact, finding the combo of Scream horror mask & chipmunk face means that there’s a 70-80% the patient will respond to shunting—which is basically the NPH response rate in general!

So remember, look for the chipmunk so you won’t have to squirrel around w/calling NPH!

Cord herniation or arachnoid cyst? A common conundrum. Dynamic CTM can help! Arachnoid cysts will often fill in on delayed imaging, so obtaining early dynamic imaging is key to making the diagnosis, outlined beautifully in this case:
