@_Simon_K@JosephMooneyMP Yeah. I would argue there are better and worse consultants, and I think we do a pretty good job, often in timelines noone else is willing to take on. But I understand there is also a bunch of rubbish coming out of the sector
@dissproportion@cybelethebest Yeah. On the other hand, it's also true that if you're not in control of your emotions that line will blur. I worked as a nanny for a family where this happened and the dad ended up just abusing his kids when he got angry. Probably better to never go there instead.
@dissproportion@cybelethebest This is the main reason why I think spanking is a bad idea - it's hypocritical.
I do think that there is a difference between controlled spanking as a form of planned discipline and uncontrolled physical abuse, and people who are anti spanking often act like there isn't.
@jaydotchan People cite it as a reason, sure. But these are people who don't want kids anyway or have not managed to get themselves into a position where it is feasible
Sorry but I do not believe that anyone does not have kids because of climate change, in the same way that I do not believe that anyone has kids for the economy

@JJNews002 I can believe the economy impacting the decision to have kids, to an extent. I don't believe people have kids with the intention of improving the economy.
@LewSOS@PronouncedHare And similarly, there is a point where age and/or health prevents you from having 3 jobs. My point is that people on NZ super are not the only ones facing any of these issues
@LewSOS@PronouncedHare They absolutely can though! It's not means tested! Obviously there is a point where age or health prevents this but that doesn't apply to everyone on super.
@foxcar_joey I'm amazed by the things my mum worries about now, compared with what she was like when she had 3 small kids and a business to run.
We basically didn't go to the doctor unless it was A&E. Her six month old kitten has probably been more often than the 3 of us kids put together
