@dissproportion @cybelethebest Yeah. On the other hand, it's also true that if you're not in control of your emotions that line will blur. I worked as a nanny for a family where this happened and the dad ended up just abusing his kids when he got angry. Probably better to never go there instead.

I do think that there is a difference between controlled spanking as a form of planned discipline and uncontrolled physical abuse, and people who are anti spanking often act like there isn't.

@foxcar_joey I'm amazed by the things my mum worries about now, compared with what she was like when she had 3 small kids and a business to run.
We basically didn't go to the doctor unless it was A&E. Her six month old kitten has probably been more often than the 3 of us kids put together
