BREAKING: Republican House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy gives his WORST defense yet of Trump’s theft of top secret documents.

When a reporter asked him today if it’s a “good look” for Trump to have boxes in a bathroom,” McCarthy’s responded by telling the reporter that, “A bathroom door locks.”

Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin immediately responded to Kevin McCarthy, laughing and telling CNN, “Well, that’s the first that I have ever seen that particular defense, but is he suggesting that these boxes of classified documents got up and locked the door after people left the bathroom? I’m not quite sure I follow the logic.”

Speaker McCarthy, you should be above these types of lies and misdirection. Your position demands it.

Every other politician you're going to mention, complied with their investigations/inquiries, and returned classified materials without issue.

Whereas Trump:

-lied about having materials
-moved them around multiple times to hide them
-refused to return classified materials when directed to
-had his lawyer tell agents that there was no need to search a room that Trump knew to contain classified documents
-Trump is also on tape, admitting he took classified materials and could no longer declassify them
-Trump also showed the classified materials to people he shouldn't have
-Trump may have even sought deals with foreign nationals regarding US classified documents

Any politician who tries to interfere with this prosecution, any politician who continues to attempt to undermine the credibility of our judicial system, any politician who misleads the public about the seriousness of Trump's indictments;

is an enemy to our Democracy, our Republic, our nation, and is unfit to serve in any capacity in our federal government.

History will remember your actions.

But for goodness sake STFU about a man of privilege that was given almost two years to return documents but didn’t.

The two-tier justice system has always benefited white privileged folks like Trump. Especially in this instance. #FreshWords
