Our ancestors fucked up.

They executed 1% of the men of each generation since the medieval era - culling the violent retards among them. But they failed to exterminate the violent women.

Male violence is overt, direct, ruthless, brutal - and through this act of domestication, measured. Meanwhile, female aggression is often relational, backhanded, covert - and much more frequent, because this type minimizes the risk, the cost to the perpetrator.

If we look at physical violence, we find that women are significantly more violent towards their romantic partners than men, yet 90% of convictions for domestic violence are men. Violent criminal convictions are overwhelmingly of men as well, but what if it's the same effect here? Women catfight each other, scratching and pulling hair, some bystanders restrain them, and no police get involved. Men fight - they get arrested.

I thusly suspect that women are overall not just more frequently aggressive, but also more often outright violent than men. Their only "saving grace" being their incompetence. Pulled hair don't end up in a police report, while shattered orbitals and broken jawbones do. When it comes to hitting children, the infirm, or romantic partners - when the target can't or won't fight back, women outdo men significantly.

Our ancestors killed 1% of the men of each generation to domesticate them, removing the most violent genes from the population, generating a significant selection pressure. But they did not do the same thing to women, certainly not to the same extent. The witch burnings? Not 1% of women, more like 0.01%, one-hundredth the rate of men! And 50% of them were women accusing other women anyways. If anything, our ancestors rewarded the covert and relational aggression of women, by killing their targets for them.

While men became civilized creatures through state-sanctioned selection, which turned them into the men that conquered the planet - while our women only became more feral.

When will we decide that it is time to civilize women?
