@JimZ8675309@NEWSGUYSULLY 1) There isn't a high speed rail system in the world that travels 150mph with stops less than 2 miles apart.
2) this isn't a high speed rail system, it's light rail and globally those have a top speed to 70mph.
@Sam_Liberty_TM@komonews There was a problem, single lanes connecting to east and west 522 that would back up to Kingsgate at times. New config will provide more capacity for the mainline exit and extra offramp for the toll lane drivers so they don't have to cross all lanes creating additional backups.
@Scrappssss@CoffeeGrunt1@62_to_36@povcops If you intend to leave said bag completely out of your control by, oh let's say, leaving town on an airplane then yes. Absolutely irresponsible.
The only slightly responsible thing he did was unintentionally maintain possession of his loaded firearm.
@Kaffe_Takk@JeremyHarrisTV@komonews Kayaks and personal water craft use the small locks all the time, it's no problem. There are missing pieces from this story.
@FedEx You seem to be under the impression that your mobile app is functional. Maybe pop over to either of the app stores and see what your customers think.
@mona_lee_D@komonews Generally speaking a fire truck is expected to spend 15 years in front line service and an additional 10 years in a support role.
As to how often the batteries need to be replaced it's quite possible these could complete their front line service before battery service.
@mona_lee_D@komonews I can't find the specifics for this one but the vendor, Pierce/Oshkosh, list most models come with 155-244kWh batteries but that customizable per department requirements. Not unique to EVs, also applies to diesel. For comparison Tesla's come with 50-100kWh batteries depending on.
@mona_lee_D@komonews For battery disposal the contents of Lithium batteries are highly recyclable and there is already a good sized industry around repurposing used cells or reclaiming the raw materials.
@sieclaprzemysl1@LabPadre They have always had the target of Starship being fully reusable. At the very least the Moon and Mars missions will require landings and relaunch, albeit with less gravity to deal with. But I could see them kicking the can down the road and using an expendable config for now.
@JShivok @KenKirtland17 Makes sense to start sending up Starlink v2 satellites even if Starship is still in its "expendable" stage of development. The next block 1 Starship doesn't have a payload door. Not sure if anyone has seen any block 2 hardware with payload doors yet.
@pompanoj@NASASpaceflight I just don't see how Starship could receive human launch certification, at least not with the escape system requirements. I'd imagine we'll see Dragon doing the crew transportation for some time while they fine-tune Superheavy and Starship for getting everything else to orbit.
@Stuffhappenwhen@CSI_Starbase@LabPadre@DeffGeff There is the tower height itself but we haven't seen what the plan for the platform is. Since it appears there'll be a flame trench the platform the rocket sits on could be considerably lower in relation to the tower.
@HorseCertified@FAANews@SpaceX The FAA is a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization which collectively manages air safety at a global level. This isn't about jurisdiction, it's about everyone working collectively to insure air space safety for everyone. The FAA has offices in 12 counties.
@cdaili@seattledot@GoogleAI Getting cars to their destination quicker reduces pedestrian exposure, the sooner a car is parked the sooner it can no longer cause injuries. Also the reduction in pollution improves air quality along these corridors where pedestrians would be the vulnerable group of users.
