Just returned from a gathering with seven local families, all in their 30s and early 40s. Six of the family previously aligned with the ADMK or BJP and now uniformly support TVK and express deep opposition to the DMK.

My wife and I were the only DMK supporters present.

We took the initiative to have a conversation. We did not persuade anyone, yet the exchange felt essential. What stood out was that judgments about the DMK were not shaped by data or facts, but by blind animosity.

The civil conversation has to continue to happen. Change is going to happen but slowly.

Disinformation campaigns by the route mafia and how they took on ரஜினி, Suriya, Dhanush movies. This is the biggest form of corruption of young mind orchestrated by this leader and his coterie.

I don't know if corruption can be completely eliminated, but I am confident it can be significantly reduced. Right now, it has become part of the mainstream public discourse in Tamil Nadu.

​Every corrupt politician and government official will be watching these developments closely. Over time, increased public awareness will make them hesitate to demand bribes.

​Critics claim this is just a gimmick by Chief Minister Vijay’s government. However, even assuming it is a gimmick, once you kickstart this process among the public and they lose their fear of refusing bribes, it escapes political control. Even if a government later wants to stop the momentum, it would no longer be within their power to do so.

​Once things get started, they take on a life of their own.
