My recommended "best" way to #LearnEnglish or any language for the average person:
1) Start with the basics of pronunciation, especially ear training. Identify sounds that are new using the IPA (the only good use of it for language learning; don't try to memorize the symbols)

This applies perfectly no matter what your #englishlearning strategy is, but especially if you have the common fear of speaking in #English! Just start and keep going once you do :)
Did you know that contractions in #English are NOT informal? Who teaches you this stuff? Writing is a little different (mostly very formal writing), but if you don't use contractions most of the time in #spokenenglish, you won't sound natural and it can distract the listener!
