Arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day State Visit.
Kenya and Kazakhstan have been planting seeds of friendship for over a decade through series of deliberate engagements. It is time to take these cordial relations to the next level. Our trade ties are already blossoming in tea, flowers, fertilizer, and logistics, with a growing direct connection between Nairobi and Astana, as well as other countries in Central Asia.
We are committed to building on this foundation by exploring new opportunities in finance, ICT, tourism, energy, and exchange programmes, with the overriding goal of fostering job creation, skills transfer, as well as expanding and opening new markets for our goods.
I had the pleasure of hosting Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, during her courtesy call at the Kenyan Embassy in Kinshasa, DRC. @ForeignOfficeKE@MusaliaMudavadi
I paid a courtesy call on Kenya’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eng. Peter Tum, in Kinshasa.
Our discussions focused on Kenya’s regional health priorities, strengthening diplomatic and intergovernmental collaboration, and advancing partnerships that support cross-border disease surveillance, preparedness, and response.
The engagement took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Consultative Meeting of Permanent/Principal Secretaries on Cross-Border Collaboration for Health Security in Brazzaville, DRC.
We are investing KSh20 billion to build 6,800 affordable housing units in Murang’a County, expanding access to decent and dignified homes, and creating thousands of jobs.
Honoured to receive and host CS Interior @kipmurkomen, who represented H.E. the President, @WilliamsRuto, at the inauguration of H.E. Denis Sassou-Nguesso in Brazzaville.
I had the honour of hosting Hon.@ketercharles, EGH, the special envoy of H.E. President Dr. @WilliamsRuto, at our new Kenya Embassy in Kinshasa during the 9th Ordinary Summit of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
Sammy Lui was a dedicated public servant, a veteran broadcaster, and the respected State Master of Ceremonies.
From his early days as one of Kenya's pioneer journalists at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation to his time at the Presidential Press Service, and later, as Director of State Events, his powerful voice was the familiar soundtrack to Kenyans.
His sterling career influenced many who followed in his footsteps, and his huge contribution to our media industry will not be forgotten.
Our condolences to the family, friends and the media fraternity.
Rest In Peace, Lui.
It is not a TRAGEDY that Raila Odinga DIED. It will be a TRAGEDY if we let DIE what Raila left ALIVE in us. A burning FIRE for COUNTRY. Raila Fought the GOOD FIGHT, finished the RACE, and kept the FAITH. Now IDA Odinga MUST stabilise the ODM ship. Winnie Mandela did it. Why NOT!
We are proud of the success of the CHAN 2024 tournament, which we co-hosted with Uganda and Tanzania. Building on these milestones, we are preparing to host AFCON 2027, determined to deliver an even greater spectacle.
As part of these preparations, we are constructing Talanta Stadium alongside other modern sports facilities across the country. These investments will strengthen grassroots sports, nurture talent, and firmly place our sports on the global stage.
At State House, Nairobi, met FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, ahead of the CHAN 2024 finals between Morocco and Madagascar at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
We discussed preparations for AFCON 27 and the development of a Sh600 million National Technical Centre in Machakos supported by FIFA to host the FKF Headquarters.
I know it's just game 1. Tougher battles lie ahead, but we believe in our boys to go the distance and, God willing, lift the trophy right here on home soil. The dream is alive. The journey has begun. Let’s go Kenya! #CHAN2024
What a proud and emotional moment — for me personally, and for our country.
Watching @Harambee__Stars edge out DR Congo with a spirited 1-0 win in our opening #CHAN2024 match at the newly renovated Kasarani Stadium was nothing short of historic.
As former Principal Secretary for. @GokSportsDept, with the privilege of laying the groundwork for this very infrastructure and team, to see it buzzing and full of life is deeply fulfilling.
With President @williamsruto, we share a common commitment: that no country should have to choose between development and protecting the planet.
This is the ambition we are bringing today to Seville with our partners, as part of the Pact for Prosperity, People and the planet launched two years ago in Paris.
We will also champion this ambition at the Africa–France Summit, co-chaired by Kenya and France next spring in Nairobi.
With President Ruto, we also discussed major projects underway between our two countries in the fields of energy transition, transport, and agriculture.
In this context, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to peace and security in the Great Lakes region, Sudan, and Somalia.
