@schteppe it's done this way because there are multiple ways to implement signed integers in hardware, so the language leaves it undefined behavior.
you could always build your own checks on top of that or use a third party library.
@schteppe@brain_nullptr most of the bad driving i observe is due to phone use, with several instances that almost hit me.
it's pretty much driving with your eyes closed, you don't need statistics to tell it's retarded and dangerous.
sleep deprivation is also bad, do you have a solution for that?
@brain_nullptr@schteppe ideally you'd are less intrusive solution for stopping retards from being on the phone while driving.
perhaps law that requires phones to enter "driving mode" when it detects driving using speed and location that limits only using GPS and calls.
@awesomekling im curious if you encountered AI projects which are not stochastic git clone, that is creating something that doesn't already exist in the training data?
@lauriewired tell me you don't play games without telling me you don't play games
won't work because of latency.
also compression artifacts and bandwidth for metered users are a problem.
already been tried and failed.
you're better off having gamers rent their hardware.
@lemire also you're dealing with dishonest people with conflict of interest in these AI companies (biggest copyright infringement in human history, etc) so i wouldn't trust their word.
i only trust the stuff i can reproduce.
@lemire most humans are not brilliant, but that's a strawman argument.
my point is that if you could spin up an army of genuine 130-145 IQ machines you'd have hyper progress, and the fact that it's not happening proves these scores are meaningless.
