How do we make Christ visible to the world?

God made Himself visible in the person of Jesus Christ, “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15). But now that Christ has ascended to the Father, how does Scripture say the world is to see Him?

Not through images made by human hands.

Paul says that God’s invisible attributes are clearly perceived through what He has made, not through the works of human hands, but through the works of God’s hands (Romans 1:20). As God’s new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), we are being conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). Scripture therefore calls us to imitate God by walking in love, just as Christ loved us (Ephesians 5:1–2).

And Jesus tells us exactly how the world will recognize Him in us:

“By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

The distinguishing mark of Christ’s people is not religious artwork or sacred objects, but sacrificial love.

When the Church loves as Christ loved, the world catches a glimpse of Christ Himself. We are called to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14–16), reflecting His character so that others may see our good works, glorify our Father in heaven, believe the gospel, and have life in His name.

May we make Christ visible by loving one another as He first loved us. Pick up your cross, follow Him, and love one another.

If you are a Christian your confidence today rests on foundations that cannot be shaken. If God is for you, and He has not spared His own Son but delivered Him up for all of you, then He will graciously give you all things with Him. (Rom 8:28–39) And please don’t hear this as a platitudinal X post: it flows from the reality of your election. God chose you in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless, predestining you for adoption as His children according to His pleasure and will.

The Puritan theologians are helpful here, and understood something vital about this assurance: election and covenant work together, offering troubled believers a double source of assurance; you can plead the covenant with God, asking Him to fulfill His promises, while simultaneously finding comfort in the sufficiency of His prevenient grace and the immutability of His will in election. Your election is not fragile or conditional on your performance, as I’ve said before, your salvation is received not achieved. God’s immutable decree of election proceeds from His perfect counsel, the basis for maintaining His people in sanctification and imparting to them an inward principle of holiness.

Yet this absolute promise does not leave you passive. God’s love, made known to you, draws you out of yourself toward Him in orderly, faithful obedience. The conditional promises of the covenant are inseparable from your daily renewal of it through prayer, meditation, and worship. Your obedience becomes the very means by which you experience and confirm what God has already secured.

Anchor yourself in the permanence of God’s word. Heaven and earth will pass away, but His words will not pass away. (Matt 24:35) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. (2 Tim 3:16–17) In this word, your election is declared, your redemption is promised, and your perseverance is guaranteed — not by your strength, but by His.

It’s weird that so far in the campaign so few are talking about how his district is one of the most dangerous places to live in Austin, or how hard he is to get a hold of.

🚨 BREAKING: @Guttmacher released new data showing that abortion numbers on Texas soil are still rising after Dobbs, especially by means of mail-order telehealth abortion pills.

In the year 2025, there were at least 42,000 telehealth abortions, as well as 22,700 abortions of Texas babies in other states. That means at least 64,700 Texas babies were murdered last year with these two methods alone.

By comparison, 2023 saw at least 46,300 Texas babies murdered with these two methods, which includes at least 12,400 telehealth abortions and 33,900 abortions of Texas babies in other states.

These data from @Guttmacher show how more abortions are occurring on Texas soil even after new Pro-Life legislation became law.

Texas women are learning that they can obtain cheap and convenient telehealth abortions rather than traveling out of state, and that Pro-Life regulations ensure they cannot be held accountable for murdering their own preborn babies.

Instead of continuing to insist that Pro-Life laws are working when they simply are not, Pro-Life establishment groups in Texas must recognize that without equally protecting preborn babies and criminalizing abortion for everyone willfully involved, the bloodshed will continue to worsen in our state.

@farmingandJesus I’d say not. I’d say they are focused on the joy of worshipping Chris in all His Glory. Why? : Eccl 9:5-6, Rev 22:4. To have knowledge or thought of things occurring under the sun would be a burden & carry with it grief. If they’ve died in Christ they’ve entered His presence.

This article acknowledges that “IVF is responsible for the destruction of millions of embryos each year” and estimates that about 3 million embryos were created through IVF in 2022 alone.

So why is there no mention of embryo adoption?

As the first adopted frozen embryo born, I find that omission hard to understand.

If these embryos are children, then the conversation shouldn’t end with how they were created or how many are lost. It should also include what we owe the children who are already here.

Embryo adoption belongs in every conversation about IVF.

@farmingandJesus Cessation is broadly applied to so many definitions. I think the most accurate definition is apostolic gifts have ceased. There a no more apostles & as such no one is walking around at will performing signs & miracles. God still does miracles. All glory is his.
