@BowmanKingman The river is too shallow for 4 lanes of 45’ wide! There are better alternatives that they don’t want to figure out. Like Benning road, like a free span of the river.
@BowmanKingman No, other rowers did, NO substantive changes have been made. Major safety issue for 100s of adults and kids boating every day. Rowers will hit the bridge. It is one of the few straight wide parts and they want to plunk a pier in it! Do come row on June 1 - you’ll love it!
@BowmanKingman Nope, some talk, but no changes for safety nor silting. Please don’t think they have been responsive! For bikes they say they no trees with nuts that will impeded bikes - yet they plan bridge abutments that will sink boats. Anacostia riverkeeper also says abutments are bad.
